Lol that isn't saying much. They promoted a dude who had ZERO business being a DC.

A guy who was an NFL player for nine years and an NFL defensive assistant and secondary coach for eight was hardly the most egregious hire. Sometimes things just don't work out.

I just hope Shanahan and Lynch are confident in Staley as plan B

What if Staley isn't plan B and someone else is?
Like who? Townsend? lol

You've been a member here for nearly 16 years so this isn't your first rodeo.... you should know by now that not everything in the NFL gets reported or leaked. We have no idea who this team has or hasn't spoken to beyond the names reported.
BS, we would have heard by now if there were other interviews. So its Saleh, Townsend or Staley as of now.

From special teams to DC was a huge reach. Confirmed by his dismissal.

He was a secondary coach for years. He's spent way more time coaching than he did special teams.

Good point. Even so, he was in over his head. Should have hired someone with experience.

Bears announced Eddie George, Patriots announced Byron Leftwich, teams tend to be more by the book when it comes to the rules nowadays.

It wouldn't be a good look to setup a second interview with Graham, rush in some random minority assistant that they hadn't interviewed before and then cancel the interview with Graham just to hire a guy who looks straight out of Hee-Haw.

Most coaches usually have some experience at some level coachng different postion groups. The ones that don't are former palyers that just started coaching. You can have a lot of coaching experience but HC is different. That's why there have been only a few great HCs over the years. Lot's of good DCs, OCs and STCs.

Not sure if already posted or not.

They only announce interviews with people currently under contract with another nfl team. Could easily have interviewed another minority candidate outside of the league or recently let go.
