Because yes, ONCE AGAIN, Kyle seems unprepared.

He seems to have banked only on getting Salah 1st and foremost, not taking into consideration that Salah might get a head coaching gig. Or not caring and taking a chance, instead of interviewing other proven defensive coordinators.

We missed out on a legit vet Defensive Coordinator in Lou Anarumo... seems we are about to miss out on Dennis Allen.

And we didn't interview Jim Fassel's son for our much needed Special Teams gig....and maybe about to miss out on Rizzi to the Bears. No reports that we have interviewed them.

What do YOU think is Kyle's backup plan to Salah? What don't you want for sure? Say it now, so you don't try to play it off later like it was a good selection.

Again, Kyle fired the defensive coordinator (who held the Chiefs to 3 pts in the first half...13pts for three qtrs) right after the Super Bowl with no legit hire planned to take his place...someone legit to help keep us in it during our Super Bowl window. But what happend? Defense got worse...offensive players like Purdy and Deebo started pressing, trying to do too much...and we missed the playoffs.

Those Chiefs were a mediocre offense? Pat Mahomes and Andy Reid? My God the reach.

And yes our defense tailed off BECAUSE ONCE A f**kING GAIN, OUR OFFENSE COULDN'T SUSTAIN DRIVES TO PUT THEM AWAY! Of course they tailed off, THIS WAS NOTHING f**kING NEW! It has happened in the past against the same team, at the Super Bowl... happened against the Rams in the NFC Championship game.

Edit- eitherway he was only with us for one year....I'm sure if Kyle let him have full control of how the defense is run, we would have looked better this season after the players and the coach have more experience with each other.

My issue is making a firing like that, without having a legit replacement ready. Especially when we were expected to make a Super Bowl run.

Ultimately it will depend on who performs in the DC role - if Staley performs as DC next season all the PR offseason rubbish (good or bad) won't matter. Same goes conversely if Saleh gets hired but it doesn't work.

And Wilks stinks? Bet he gets a DC gig before your boy Sorensen sniffs an interview again. He might even get the Falcons gig.

Sorenson isn't good either. That's why he's being replaced.

This whole thing is supposed to work by merit. Do a good job. Keep the job.

It seemed pretty clear the players weren't buying in, outside of the obvious criticism that could be leveled around his play-calling. We're not going to stick with a bad fit, in multiple ways, just because a replacement isn't a sure thing.
