So glad we got him back was worried we'd get stuck with another below average DC it'll be interesting to see how he does with a young but talented secondary. He's always had a great DL this year might be different. Hoping we can get Khalil Mack to shore up the edge rotate him with Floyd and he might be able to play LB if Fred or Greenlaw get injured

Is that right? I didn't wanna throw his name out there I don't know anything about him or cared to look up his teams stats. I will now.

Idk I'm just glad it won't be Sorensen.
At this point I'll take whoever we can get

Exactly, I'd take Phoenix as the STC over Sorensen 😂

I think Saleh will be here at a minimum 2 years. Im hoping in the contract language Kyle and John locked him in for 2. Plus he may not be a hot commodity next season even if he performs well. There will be other hot coaches out there and owners see that he failed once already. He may need time as a DC to build up his cred a little

If Saleh is top 5 in yards and points and we make a deep postseason runs, I figure he is gone. We just have to figure jobs that may open up vs. coordinators that will be the hot coaches + college coaches that may move to the NFL.
The Dolphins, Titans, maybe the Colts, maybe the Titans, Browns, Giants, Cowboys (they could bottom out with this head coaching hire), and Panthers (because of the owner) could be available.
Im hoping we have him for 2-3 seasons for the following reasons:
1) Stability. We have been missing that.
2) Saleh has built two awesome defenses. Looking forward to his 3.0 version. He also has a better head start than what we had with the Jets in 2021 and 49ers in 2017.
3) Gives him plenty of time to develop one or two guys capable of taking over.
4) I want to see if he can give Nick Bosa a spark. Can Bosa be a top 3 guy again? I'd say so if we get some real space eaters, but it remains to be seen.
5) Our secondary growing even more. One thing that was missing in his first tenure was generating turnovers. Hoping we can add a true free safety that can give us those extra possessions each game.
However the 49ers can't lock Saleh for two years, even if he has a 2 year contract. If a HC job is offered, Saleh can leave.

While I'm excited to see Saleh back. What is the succession plan? The immediate interest in Saleh tells me he's not going to be here long. I'm interested to see who they potentially add to the defensive staff with Sorenson and Staley reportedly out.
Woods and Saleh showed to be a great combination the one year they were together and he's available at the moment.

Yeah, need to get the memory of Rodgers punking him out of everyone's memory. At least two years, minimum.
