This has probably already been brought up...
Saleh would be great to have back as DC; however, say he's hired and gets this D back to being one of the best next season and he's then one-and-done in being hired away as a HC. The Niners are once again looking for a DC.
Almost think another quality candidate that's already been a HC a couple of times, like Dennis Allen, might be a better option as the chances that person sticks around longer might be greater (hopefully a lot longer if they get this D back to dominating).

Grant "what negative hot take can I post today for engagement."
He gets paid based on engagements, he's talked about it. But yeah he's just some honest let's keep it real journalist lol.
He's not really a journalist, he's basically one of the dozens of 49ers SM content creators who happens to have credentials.

If the next DC hired does a good job and this D is rolling, hopefully he'll stay for at least 3-5 years. KC has had this continuity luxury w/ Spags over the years. Yet seeing Spags is getting HC interviews right now - would be a little surprised to see him become a HC again, though.

The front office better be all-in for this offseason. If they play their cards right in free agency and draft, 2025 might be the final chance to win it all with this core of players. After 2025 you have no idea what you'll be getting from core players like Kittle, T-Williams, McCaffrey, Warner, and Deebo. So if it takes a one year DC in Saleh to go all the way then so be it. 2026 will take care of itself.

Would love to see Spags leave KC and go somewhere else because that weakens the Chiefs.
But if I am Spags, I just don't see anything that intrigues me more than collecting more SB rings as DC of the Chiefs.
Outside of that I hope we can get a DC who will be here for several years and be a great DC for us.
