There's no excuse to not land one of those three in this cycle. Saleh, if named our DC, should help recruit Boyer to SF.

If Kyle delegates Nick Sorensen to ST duties, then it's clear that either a) he's being cheap and/or b) he doesn't value ST.

All the more reason to hire a proven, high end coordinator and let them do their thing. One less issue that you need to worry about.
Selah come on board yet?

We have to wait till at least after Tues cause he's got those interviews..but come on Selah, get your azz back here
Saleh #1
Dennis Allen #2
If Niners hire Saleh, he will probably get another chance to be a HC in a year or 2. If they hire Allen, he probably sticks for awhile assuming he performs well as a DC after his failed stints with the Raiders & Saints.

Saleh might get another shot.. but I don't think chasing the past will just cure the defense we need

allen, I would only take him because he could be here a while and he has gotten a top 5 defense twice in his career

I concur

followed by
Lou A or Ulbrich
Sounds great that folks keep saying Dennis Allen but I haven't heard any interest in him from the Niners. Am I missing something?

John or Darren Rizzo would be great hires, especially if Kyle truly has limited interest in Special Teams as has been reported.

Or Brant Boyer finally. One of the top special teams coaches in football had been toiling away with the Jets for years. He'd be a massive upgrade.

I honestly think he doesn't value it

This is why I'd love Allen but with out cake walk schedule next year….All gas no brakes to the SB.
I just have a gut feeling Salah doesn't want to come back here... or at least we are not his first preference, even as just a defensive coordinator.

I feel he left here on a high note, and it wouldn't be good for his career to come back and end up doing worse. Figure fixing some new team's defense would be a quicker route to getting a head coaching gig sooner.

Also with Purdy about to get paid, he knows we are not going to have the talent he has been used to going forward.

I probably flip them but I'd be thrilled with either

Not that I've seen yet. Probably at this point he has attached himself to a head coaching candidate.
Saleh and Fassel would be incredible

We really should prepare ourselves for Staley to be the DC and Sorensen to be the STC

Kyle gave a pretty good answer to this in a press conference.

What do you define as "value"?

KS said they invested high picks for ST specialists (Moody + Wishnowski)

They also went out and paid FA prices for ST only players

What KS doesn't do is spend his time coaching them.
