Curious how you would rank the potential candidates Phoenix

Saleh and Allen are my top two favorites based on their track records and obviously Saleh's familiarity with the team. I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be able to land at least one of those guys. I'm open to Anarumo although skeptical about his defenses getting gashed so often, he never had a Top 10 defense at any point.

I don't think they'll go with a first timer but Brendan Daly, the LB coach of the Chiefs is someone I've found intriguing for a few years. Extensive resume having coached DL and LB's for Minnesota, the Patriots and KC although the obvious question comes up about why he's been an assistant for so long without getting any real coordinator looks.

What in the actual f**k is going on? My guess, people realize Robert Saleh is, you know, better than what most around these parts think. Hope we are lucky enough to get him back, but it might be high time, we look elsewhere just in case (which I suspect that braintrust is already doing).

I think he gets a HC job again this year. It wasn't his fault Arod and OL was awful and his offense couldn't do anything. His defense was more than fine.

And if he doesn't get a HC job this season, idk if I want him back. He's basically going to be a guaranteed a HC again next season if our defense looks good again. Gonna suck if we have to search for another DC again

who thinks he wants to be back.. He said he wasn't going to jump into anything, a week later he's on GB staff. That he wasn't going to jump back in meant he wasn't going to come here.
I'm at the point where I want to see them interview Allen and Ulbrich for DC and Fassell and Rizzi for Special Teams, and then make a decision. Even if they are waiting for the Saleh domino to fall, I'm not sure I'd wait so long that you lose out on other candidates.
I think we'll be looking for a new DC next year if we hire Saleh. I'd not hire him without a contractual agreement that he's our DC for at LEAST 2 years with a significant financial penalty if he breaks that contractual agreement. My #1 choice is Allen and am disappointed I've heard nothing about the team showing any interest, unless I've missed something....

This is all I've seen about Allen and the 49ers

A new challenger approaches?

I was excited about Wade Phillips 8 years ago. Not so much anymore.

If Saleh leaves after a year we get a 2nd or 3rd for a comp?

I would hope they do, but they haven't officially interviewed him so I don't think its going to happen.

Looking like a Saleh says yes or no then we go with whatever option is left...
