Im sure there's a budget for assistant coaches, I just don't know how restrictive it is. Like it came out that Belichick of all people was greatly limited on what he could spend on staff by Robert Kraft.

i had said it was leading to familiar choices that would be underwhelming.
i guess it will be good to have Saleh to rebuild the D and make a run. It seems like he could go again next year and we could be looking again in Feb. i hope he agrees to stay two years. maybe a comp pick again thn? The way this works is if he brings Ulbrich with him to take over when he leaves.

I waned to see Soenson at assistant special teams coach and maybe help with DB's. We have a chance to get someone real good as he main guy there.

Amazing with Kyle. As per Barrows, there is no backup plan besides Saleh. Which tells you that IF Saleh gets head coaching gig, Kyle will most likely move Staley to DC. And it was obvious that Sorenson was the front runner for ST from the start.

Yeah, I don't want him, but I guess at least he'd be better qualified for that job (relatively anyway, coached there, and by far more experience on teams than defense).

You may be right but I think he's simply doing his buddy a solid,multiple people on this forum called this happening.

No justification for him being under consideration for this position let alone being actually hired with the candidates that are available.

in some respect i question what a ST coach can do. moody sucks ok, that's not the ST coach saying to kick like an idiot. he just sucks. but i see ppl after moody has a doozy of a game, they go to the ST coach thread as if that's the problem. you talk late season we had kicker and punter off the couch. we went thru like 4 kickers. we had a kick where i think juice was holding and wish was kicking.

Hiring Sorenson for the ST gig would be super disappointing to say the least.
