Very disappointing. To have Shanahan not do his due diligence and bring in more candidates to find the best hire. Putting all his eggs into one basket - Saleh. Most likely Staley gets it if Saleh is hired elsewhere. This is typical of Shanahan even on the field - all eggs into one basket : running one rb into the ground the entire game.

How do you know he hasn't interviewed or talk to more candidates? We all didn't know Deshea Townsend was getting interviewed or even was a candidate. There's still a few more weeks to get something done. Saleh is still doing interviews and head coaches still need to be hired. No one is in a rush except us fans.

Even if he just spoke to more candidates over the phone, one would assume more in house interviews other than his savior Saleh, and a guy who is already in house that we haven't got a clue of what he does, and a Rooney ruler. Maybe not be in a rush to hire, but there a lot more teams going to look for DCs soon and maybe already. Unless he is doing all this in secret, the evidence is there. The hire of Sorensen last year is telling.
