Where do the 49ers Go from Here

Brock - I think based on this season's performance you can't be in a rush to give him a contract, let him play out his deal unless he is willing to do a Baker Mayfield-sized deal.

Samuel - I'm not sure how much of an out the 49ers have with Deebo we may be stuck with him. If there is an out we may want to consider moving on from him. He's still a good player even if he's not a superstar any longer. The issue I have is if we are turning the dial on the 49ers you need a culture shift and Deebo is the culture here. Send him packing to start building a new one.

Juice - Restructure down in price or release him. He's no longer useful.

Kittle - If you can, extend him and make George a 9ers for life. He's a professional, and HOF TE, and embodies the standard you want all rookies to play up to. He's my favorite player on the team, he's awesome at blocking and receiving, and he LOVES football, you can see it all over his face. We need guys like this no matter where this team is in the standings.

Hargraves - Restructure or release.

Greenlaw - Prove it deal.

Ward - Thanks for your service.

Draft - This team needs to rebuild in the trenches. Pass rushers, run stuffers, interior OL, anything. Keep an eye on the 49ers drafting another QB. The NE Patriots used to draft QB's in round 2-3 all the time.

Moody - Release

1) Start with asking John Lynch to step down. Horrendous OLine, no franchise QB, bad drafting for 8 years

2) Replace DC and special teams coach. Eagles got new OC and DC and turned it around in one season

3) Bring in more talent at WR. Deebo is done. The jury is out on Pearsall. Jennings seems to be the only WR we have. Only other receiving option is Kittle.

4) Draft Kittle's replacement..he's getting up there and gets hurt a lot. Current tight ends aren't doing anything

5) Time to rotate RBs. Another of successful teams do this now..but Shanahan wants to run players into the ground.

6)This team needs a lot of changes..oline, run defense, coaching
Has there ever been a faster collapse?

SB to last in the division in one season?

We already did this in 2020

Then back in the NFC title game the next. Things can change really fast in the NFL. A key injury here or there. A major hit on a draft pick. Sometimes it doesn't take much.
looks like to prepare for the 4th place schedule we will get next season with a higher draft pick, maybe that will swing things our way a bit

I agree.

Moody - Release

I don't know why they would release Moody. He barely missed one FG in those bad conditons and was on line with the 55 yard attempt. It just came up short. He has a strong enough leg so I suspect his plant leg wasn't stable on that surface. There have been a lot of missed FGs around the league this season. Many have been 40 yards or less. The Ravens kicker missed 2 yesterday and then missed an extra point. Moody isn't their problem. Not scoring TDs when they reach the redzone is.

Robbie Gould was clutch when it mattered , a kicker isn't something you don't wanna worry about
Moody is an 80% kicker. A good kicker is over 85%. Elite kickers are 88-89%

(Gould was 86.5%)

Do these guys even follow the team
One of the things I hate about big long term contracts is they make it harder to trade the players . It's hard to find a team that is willing to take on a big contract when the player is older. That leaves the team with the option of releasing the player and eating at least part of that contract.

2020? Similar kind of injury plagued season.

Robbie Gould lost his job with Chicago because they thought he was washed and had missed a few clutch kicks for them.

Kickers can go up and down. The Vikings dumped Daniel Carlson because he missed some big kicks for them and then he went to the Raiders and became one of the best, most consistent kickers in football. I think Moody deserves one more shot next season, hopefully with a better ST coach.
