So I guess logically they need to upgrade both lines as a start.

They need to focus on the trenches badly. This team used to dominate up front and that's been going away the last few years. They need to return to that.

I very much agree with your observations and Cisco's as well. However, while both Shanahan and Lynch have drafted well, they've also whiffed a few times on high pick offensive line choices. Puni looks good, so far. But I'm not counting him. The two most recent picks that come to mind, and there have only been two high round picks in the past decade it seems, is McGlinchey in 2018 (1st round) and Banks in 2021 (2nd round).

I would argue that both players have been very good. But in terms of greatness from a high pick? There are some who would argue that ShanaLynch swung for the fences and missed. This is unique in my opinion. Both the HC and GM have drafted well, imo. Both have managed to pick impact players in the later rounds. The 49ers roster is studded with those selections. Kittle, Purdy, Jennings, Greenlaw are just a few. There are others.

But if there is a position that they haven't done as well with, it's offensive line. Puni may turn out to be a great one. Time will tell. But the two men in charge of 49ers Central probably know it's time to strike gold in the next draft or two with some solid line picks (offensive and defensive), and hope they can pick up a real game changer with a late round surprise.

No need for panicking.. we'll bounce back strong next season when the team Is healthy and healed up again.

I'd like to see them win a football game. Right now I'm not convinced that's an easy task. But they should take 2 more Ws and finish 7-10.

They'll blame injuries, and probably not try to change much, just thinking they need to get their guys back.
I'm getting ready for the obligatory DL in the first round and WR in the 2nd. They'll fit the ShannyLynch mold and be benchwarmers in their rookie seasons.
But I think they will go where they usually go and do nothing to shake anything up.
We cut Hargrave, move up in the draft and get best OL or Mason Graham
Last time we lost to Josh Allen we traded the next 3 1st roud picks for a higher 1.
Wth all the injuries they aren't likely to win more than 3 more games. Maybe not even that many. It makes no sense to try and bring Greenlw back this year. Bosa should probably shut it down as well. This isn't projected to be a strong draft so I wouldn't mind trading a pick or two for extra picks next season. Maybe trade this season's 2nd for a 2nd and 3rd next year or maybe a first next year. Get creative and try to get in strong position for 2026. That's assuming they don't like the players available in 2025.
Lets start with blowing up the entire defense coaching staff along with the special teams staff too. These two groups have been below mediocracy and Jake Moody is just horrible
this season is cluster _f****, it happens for most teams at some point no matter how succesful. Regroup, trim some fat and come back stronger next season.

Draft is absolutely loaded at DT and edge rusher and there should be some solid OL options in the early to middle rounds. There's no good excuse for them to not drastically upgrade the interior on both sides of the line.

I would love to get Michigan DT Mason Graham. That guy is a beast inside.

What do you think of Kenneth grant in R2?

Grant is the other Michigan DT that I would love to get. I don't think the 49ers will have a high enough draft pick to get him. Grant is a physical beast of a player and has more of a pass rush than Graham. I've been fooled before but I think Grant will be a really good DT in the NFL. Probably not as good as BY but that's okay. :)

That would be nice, however, we have already won too many games to have a shot at him. He will be a top 5-7 pick. Other fat boys would strengthen the middle nicely,
further down the draft pick order with each passing week..
