Is there an official playoff path somewhere?

I thought we wanted AZ to lose today b/c the rest of their schedule is easier
AZ gets NE (W) CAR (W) LA and SF
We HAVE to beat AZ to stay alive so I'm assuming that is a loss for them
If AZ beats LA then AZ is 9-8....which is fine

SEA has GB (L) MIN (L) CHI (W) LA (L)
SEA ends at 9-8 unless Chicago helps us out

LA has 49ers (L) NYJ (W) AZ (L) SEA (W)
End at 9-8

However...LA winning today sucked b/c it means there is no room for error....they can spike and jump to 10 wins now...maybe the Jets will save our ass here

49ers have LA MIA DET AZ
If we win all 4 we end up 10-7
However...if we lose to DET we end up in a log jam tie at 9-8 and need the tie breakers to win the west

I "think" last I saw we would have tie breakers if all the NFC west teams end up 3-3 in conference but I can't remember

We would have to beat Detroit and that's prob not happening. Not impossible though..

Just did the playoff scenario

If all 4 teams end up at 9-8 with outcomes as I laid out the 49ers win the CONFERENCE tiebreaker

So the 49ers can take the NFC West even with a loss to DET....Dr Strange odds but still a chance

If we are going to do anything in the playoffs, we have to win out.

If we get some players back, we are still a team that no one will want to play.

Come on man. I'd argue we ARE the team that most other teams want to play. Having Greenlaw back doesn't make us world beaters…

Greenlaw most likely won't be back to himself until next season

This.

We will get key guys back…Bosa, Greenlaw, hopefully Williams, etc., and soon on Bosa & Greenlaw it sounds like. Having Hufanga back today really helped on the back end.

Get the above guys back - get healthier - along with the Niners playing better like today and I like this team's chances vs. any of the four remaining teams on the schedule, including Detroit (especially considering it's at home).

And, all teams have injuries & are beat up at this time of the season - look at Detroit's D and their injuries.

First things first, though…Niners need to take care of business this Thursday vs. the Rams. Looking forward to that game.
im too old for this but i appreciate the delulu fans that still think we can get in the playoffs

Why not it's still very possible. Seattle has the hardest schedule remaining out of all the teams in the NFC West. They have Minnesota and Green Bay coming up, the Bears then last game with the Rams. The Rams have the easiest schedule left, the 9ers are the only team standing in their way to get to the playoffs. Arizona, may have a chance if they can get by New England and Carolina, both of those teams are playing pretty damn god right now.

NFC West is up in the air but if I had to guess how it would play out:

1. Rams
2. 49ers
3. Seahawks
4. Cardinals

The problem for the 49ers is they have a loss against every division opponent. It's such a long shot for them to make the playoffs that I don't even consider it.

I think they own the tiebreaker against the Rams and Clucks if the end up with the same record. They just need to beat the Rams on Thu and the Card's ass in the season finale. And there are some scenarios where two NFC West teams, can squeak into the playoffs. But all the p***y fans are going to have their panties in a bunch because we get further and further away from a top ten or top fifteen draft pick.

It is a long shot no doubt about it. But the 9ers have two games against division rivals that could put them back in the race, so even if it's a long shot there's still a chance to get in. Win those two games and they're right back in the race.

All in all though, for all the injuries and crap coaching this team has gone through, I'd say not a bad season at all. Arizona and Seattle are pretty much 80% healthy and they can't even run away with the division.

Screw the draft, I hate f**kin losing. The draft will come to us, don't chase the draft. That's loser mentality.
So you guys HOPE to get into a playoffs with a kicker like Nick moody? Im not too focused on playoffs.

Ideally I will just enjoy the 49er football since we can potentially play better and finish strong. Some promising young players out there.

The Niners need to win more than the 2 division games. They need a 4 way tie which would almost mean they need to win all their remaining games. I saw the breakdown of how that could happen and it's highly improbable.

As for tanking forget about it. Players are playing for their contract next year. They aren't going to lay down for a draft pick that might end up replacing them on the roster. Coaches and GMs don't tell the players to tank. That's a fan myth.

I just HOPE to win at all cost. But if the 9ers get into the playoffs, everyone's record is 0-0 again so who knows what happens.

Would be sweet to go on a 5 game win streak here at the end of the season. If we don't make the playoffs I'm not to worried about it considering this team was a walking wounded from the start.

The two division games are the most important. IMO. But yes, they need to win out unless everyone else in the NFCW loses the rest of their games then it's a different scenario.
