What is your ideal backfield in 2025

Contractually I feel we're stuck with CMC for another year. Unfortunately, Mason is also a restricted free agent. So he's going to get a ay increase.

Ideally for me it's Mason as the #1. CMC comes in on obvious passing situations. IG feels in for either. This would be the year I also let Juice go. His money would go towards Mason. My TE3 would have to be a hybrid TE/FB.

1A. Mason
1B. CMC
3. IG
4. Rookie drafted 5th round or later.

I would definitely try and get IG acclimated to CMC's passing role sooner than later.

CMC / Jeanty

Waste a 1st round pick on a RB when they need O line help?

If the 49ers used a first round pick on a RB, the Webzone would crash and stay down and fans might even go and burn the stadium down.

U sure you wouldn't do cartwheels if we trade out of the 1st to gain more picks and land an early 2nd then draft Boise's Jeanty?

I'm not sure Jeanty would be vailable in the 2nd round. Maybe at the very top of round 2 but we've seen a resurgence this season in the RB value.
Mostert, Mitchell, Mason, and now Guerendo, this is all proof that the Shanahan system and his scouting demonstrates that he's been able to find RB's on the cheap. I don't expect that to change in any upcoming draft. He'll select some mid-round running back for sure. Given the emergence of Bartch and Moore as capable mid-market replacements I suspect the 49ers may prioritize pass rush and CB (Ward is likely gone) for 2025.

How many teams in the league would want to be "stuck with CMC"

i had to read over that twice and still can't believe that was posted
If Mitchell was ever healthy he would be in the mix but he is made of glass so I am not sure why he is an option.

i think he's assuming health is an issue going forward and we are on the hook for a big contract which we are. his health is not looking good.

Oh sure, it just sounded funny the way it was worded

As otherworldly as CMC has been he's not getting any younger or healthier. Mason hits the hole harder in my opinion and Guerrendo is faster. Do we just walk away from Mitchell as he's never really been healthy, his game when healthy is kind of a perfect mixture of the three. Trying to get CMC into form has cost us slot this year and I'd rather not see us drop a few games Early trying to re capture that lightning in a bottle.
Easy choice CMC , you say Mason hits the hole harder I would disagree Mason is more of a power back but CMC is more explosive thru the hole and he has better quickness, jukes, vision then either of IG or Mason. IG is straight line faster but if that's what you would want in a back then you would have never been happy with a Emmitt Smith type.CMC is hands down the better route runner in the passing game and be able to pick up the blitz.

I would take that Skattebo is better version of Mason ,same tackle breaking skills with more speed and can contribute in the passing game. If you could get him with a 5th and O Line & D Line at the top of the draft.
Mason, gurrendo, rb3.

CMC is a crutch and isn't that good anymore. Mason is better inside and gurrendo is better outside and you could actually split carries with the two.

CMC is done. A shell of himself this year. Throw him into the pile with deebo and the aging veterans not living up to their pay who still think they are good when they're on the downhill.

lol
Not Deebo in the backfield and I'll be happy.
