Because no rb has ever hit his late 20s early 30s and gone from good to bad instantly right?
Statistically speaking he's more than likely done than he is going to come back and even be close to as good as he was even a year ago...
People all have their head in the sand around here with him and deebo. Odds are they both are done and substantially going to be worse players than years past. It's like the dudes still thinking Trent Williams is as good this year. He's not. There all on the downhill and him and deebo have straight fallen off the cliff.

Because he's the best player on the team and it would be moronic to not find out if he's washed.

He's the highest paid RB in the league. You don't just gamble the highest paid salary at a position on a dude that's near 30 especially at the rb position.
Get rid of him save the gamble and use the money on guys younger and you know can contribute.
Any way you slice it it's a bad bet. Most money ever, near 30, didn't look good after major injury, then got injured again, almost a full year off for a player.
That's not worth top RB in the league money no matter how you slice it.
It's money vs value. I'm sure somewhere else he can string together a few good games where he looks unstoppable. So could Adrian Peterson at the end of his career and mcaffrey isn't AP.
He can't do it an entire season anymore which means you have to get your money back. You don't pay players as the best at their position when there not even close.

It's not a major injury he just needed rest and CMC has never had a major injury in his career. If you did what he wanted you would never win a Super Bowl again you don't get rid of the best back in the NFL because you think he might be done. So I guess it's time time to get rid of Trent , Bosa because they're hurt. Everybody said Barkley and Henry were washed and their the same age or older with more touches on their body and they are now the 2 best backs in the league this year.

You don't have a guy miss half a year without a major injury in a year where you have SB hopes. While technically not a torn acl or something similar the fact he simply did not look the same and is back on IR makes it clear there is a problem.
That aside you absolutely 100% have to move on from Trent, he shouldn't have been given the extension. Bosa...no, that man earns his money and unfortunately is one of only like 5 dudes that do (Kittle, Lenoir, Warner, Jennings who is brutally underpaid, etc) and yes, that includes the massive mistake of Aiyuck and Purdy if you give him too dollar.

100% worth the trade, you straight up don't make the SB without him but you that was then. You have to see if he's washed but the age and injury combo has to make you super cautious and plan a contingency or you end up i purgatory like Deebo who is paid like 2 years ago but isn't even remotely the same guy and should be gone. That's just how the nfl is, great today and out of the league tomorrow. That list of examples is long.

Agreed, we have already made plans. We have great back ups. Taking a 16M dead cap hit for a maybe he's washed is retarded.
