Maybe calling screen passes?

Maybe pre-snap motion and creative play caling?

Maybe not 3 straight runs into the dust after a HUGE catch by kittle in the 1st quarter?

Maybe help offset a horrible o-line by moving purdy around and calling more bootleg to give him space to run or find a wr along the edges?

Maybe change the play caller.

Maybe not low percentage deep passes into double-coverage. Couldn't even get off a Hail Mary on the final play

Loved how McVay called a blitz in that last play, not even giving us a chance to air mail it.

you think Shanny would've done that at the end ?

McVay is a way better coach including the play calling. He has his team prepared and disciplined.

Was an unusual sequence - Rams lined up with a single front; changed their mind, called a time out; then lined up showing pressure. Purdy, seeing this, canned the play at the line of scrimmage. Then he realised that wasn't going to work situationally, and called for a 'reload'. Nothing doing.
I would agree that McVay is better at getting his players to compete. That said, neither team did anything offensively. The Rams were able to move the ball in the 4th quarter when Greenlaw was out. Their running game picked up and they were able to control the clock.
Six points!
We can officially put a cap on this horrible season. No way I see this team winning more than one or two more games. The last 3 games are going to help determine who is on the roster next year, who gets released and who they try and trade.

This season started bad, got worse and and never looked promising. From training camp holdouts and CMC announcing his tendinitis to Campbell refusing to play last night it's been one crazy bizarre thing after another.

Yeah let's focus on desperation 12 seconds when the game was already over instead of everything else.

He won't sign a bridge deal, he won't play on a final year, Trade we get laughed at, depends what he signs elsewhere for.

If everyone thinks he is so good trade him, get some picks. My bet is only bottom dwellers would be interested and the offers would be some 3rd and 4th round picks.

49ers sold the Raiders a bill of goods in Garapolo and the league knows that. They know 49er QBs are suspect.

Paying Purdy huge $ will be another huge contract mistake made by a team drowning in contract mistakes.

These are WILD takes. Sign Purdy for what he's worth...his # has come down.

He's a top ten QB. This team is a dumpster fire this year.

Yeah let's go back to drafting Beathard and Lance. Let's see how that works out.

Or let's sign a poverty, perennial loser, geriatric Kirk Cousins.

This all sounds wonderful.

What do you think someone other than the 49ers would pay him if he hit free agency? Serious question

A league that has paid the likes of Daniel Jones and a plethora of other garbage QBs who don't have nearly the stats or playoff/Super Bowl credentials Purdy has?

A solid chunk of change.

This is recency bias.

He's a really good QB. He was arguably the main reason reason the 49ers mounted the comeback against DET to go to the Super Bowl.

He has a horrific o-line, a fourth string running back, no receiving options outside of Kittle and Jennings, and a b******t play caller in Shanahan. And i'm convinced something isn't right with his arm this year. And he was still doing really good to start the season, when the rest of the team failed, and has just been a victim of circumstance in the past few.

It seems you are getting defensive; don't, I'm a fan of Purdy. Just curious what you think market value would be for him, what is a solid chunk of change?

43 per year

weird game. I can't recall our offense getting shut down like this in awhile. Hats off to Chris Shula for executing a good plan, I guess. that combined with SF not executing.
Flush this season. I'm already on to next season.

That's fair. I still don't know if another team would pay him that much but for us; I think that's fair
