Personally, if we win tonight, I still think the season will end soon, just on December 30th instead of tonight. I don't see us beating the Lions unless there are massive injuries to them. They're just playing on a different level from the rest of the NFC right now. It looks like it's their year (at least until the Super Bowl). They'll probably set the record straight that night that we're just not a contender at this moment.

Lions D is not great. SF is a couple bad STs plays away from being 9-4

There's a chance that the Lions could have the top seed wrapped up by then so they might hold some players out.

Always thought he was gonna play. He even said he was fine and it was precautionary due to the quick turnaround

I think it's more serious that Guerendo is making out - he went to the medical room during the game and has a legit foot sprain - however pleased to see him pushing to play today - I really like this kid's attitude.

I'll watch the games and cheer for my Niners like I have for 43 years, but this season is not going to end pretty ......we knew that a few weeks ago. As long as they cut some expensive vets and don't sign Purdy to a 60M per year this offseason, a solid draft will put us back on the trail to being relevant.

I agree that the season is all but over, but that 4% would jump massively with a SF win and 'Hawks loss. Playoffs still possible with those two (not outlandish) results. Doubt we would last long in the furnace though.
Not really, if they do not win out it would be a miracle to get in at 9-8. They are in bad shape tie breaker wise as it sits with everybody they could tie with, even a 3 way tie for the division and ties for the last wild card spot which they are also two games out of.

They have 4 wins by 3 points or less 3 of the 4 they trailed in two by double digits. The Lions could easily be 8-5. Whether conditioning or adjustments their defense plays well in the 2nd half.

I think last year the Lions had nothing to play for and they still played their starters. Knowing how Dan is he probably will do the same.

And go for it every 4th down. Who cares if they lock the 1 seed. Our job is to just get in. We can do it..

The defense has to win this game. The offense won't have a good running game with Guerrendo hobbled and can't win in a shoot out. The defense will have to play lights out.

Sorensen will probably have Campbell on Puka to lock him down, don't worry.

Drop Floyd into coverage and rush three. That'll stop em.

Woah, woah, woah..... don't leak our defense game plan here.

always great when the Drs come together to talk strategy
I hate Thursday games and the fact that the 49ers have two this year make me hate them twice as much.

but hey at least we have fresh Kinlaw and Boss back

rust vs. freshness

Though I feel like having both of these guys back together at the same time on the field gives the team so much juice; igniting multiple sparks
