Brock Purdy vs Sam Darnold

It would just be trading one question at QB for another question at QB.

Darnold has one of if the not the best WRs in the NFL running routes, Purdy has Deebo.

Darnold's stock is at an all time high, after being low for so long. Purdy's is an all time low, with it being previously high. Because of this they probably would cost you about the same. But the difference is with Purdy you don't have to pay and commit to them this season. Depending on what they are seeking and would cost, the most likely and logical decision it to just let Purdy play another year on his current contract. That makes more sense to me, then to gamble and pay either one of them this year.
I believe that if Brock had Jefferson and Addison and a decent Oline he's in ThE conversation for MVP. Call me delusional call me a homer but I've been watching football a long time and that WR duo is as good as I've seen.
Darnold is fools gold and I'm almost certain Shannalynch knows that.
we ended up dumping the wrong QB lolol
The first time Darnold s**ts the bed in the playoffs this s**t will be a ghost town. Now if he wins a title....

Of course. The first time any QBhas a bad game he's garbage on ths website. If he has a good game he's great. Fans live from week to week.

Both can be true. This place is littered with horrible takes, but lets face it.....the son of sam has been in the league for 6 or so years and never came close to living up to the draft status. The chances that this year is more b******t than it is a case of a guy finally figuring it out is at least 95%.

The problem being that Brock will not play another year on his current contract. If that were the case, then there is no debate. The discussion is do you sign a more expensive Brock or a cheaper Darnold (approximately 15-20m cheaper) because on both fronts you're still hunting for a long term solution at quarterback through the draft…

I've said it along, Darnold is one of those QB that can be compared to Nick Foles.. He shoulda been kept, especially as our BAD WEATHER QB since Purdy's Kryptonite is the weather..

but, I forgot to remember who our HC is.. lol

It's absurd to think it was realistic to keep Darnold following Purdy and the team's 2023 season, for both parties (The 49ers and Darnold).

Baldinger agrees
I listened to that interview live this morning and that's not how it went down

he was forced the question and said it's something to think about

Forced the question ?

you'll spin anything, huh ?
spin what.. baldy didn't bring it up at all.

He was asked would he flip QBs, said no but it would be something to think about

Who says he won't play another year on his current contract?

I don't see Purdy as the type to holdout. I could be wrong though. I also don't think the $ amount is as far apart as people think. Considering one is a free agent and one is under contract for another year, for absolutely nothing. Also considering Brock might be going into the contract talks at the worst place of his career and Darnold at the best. Things could change some depending on how their seasons end but as of this moment I don't think it would be some big savings going with Darnold instead. I still think Purdy has a bright future. Still Incredibly young. But unless we got an absolute steal on the contract, I would force him to play another year before paying him top of the market.
