Purdy gets stumper and stumper everytime I see him. Darnold stands nice and tall in the pocket and his passes don't flutter when it hits any kind of breeze.

People sure weren't saying this last season. I remember people being pissed off that Darnold took Trey Lance's spot. Now they want Sam Darnold over Brock Purdy.

I've said it so much this year, but I especially mean it today:

I am so, so, SO happy that this board doesn't run this team. I can literally tell you exactly what kind of moves/attempts this fanbase would make over the last year and next year if they did.

First of all, right after the Super Bowl loss, this board would call up the Chiefs, Bengals, Bills and Ravens and ask every single one of them if we can have their quarterback. When they all say no, we finally settle for trading Purdy + Aiyuk + three 1sts for Justin Herbert or Trevor Lawrence. This board would also instantly put Kyle on the hot seat.

Then, based on how Herbert/Lawrence played this year, this board would then fire Kyle, cut Herbert/Lawrence, and then sign Darnold for $50M a year. Ben Johnson ain't coming here but let's pretend the board gets their wish. Also, this board would cut Bosa. Not just because he was meh this year, but also because he wore the hat.

In 2025, Darnold would proceed to look like the Darnold of 2018-2023! Shocked Pikachu face! This board is so surprised by this, they cut him, fire Ben Johnson, and proceed to look for the next shiny new QB that sucked most of his career but looked kind of decent in 2025, like say a guy like Daniel Jones (yes, him sucking and then popping off in 2025 is very possible—Darnold literally just did it!) We then hire… I don't know… Bill Belichick after his stint in NC fails?

And then rinse and repeat.

The ONLY thing this board would get right over Kyle/Lynch is they would draft a couple more OL. That's about it. Everything else is just following how the wind blows. That QB/coordinator finally had a good season? Well then screw our guy, let's try again with that guy! And on and on…

Sorry if you don't know WTF you're talking bout. That's the only reason my feelings got hurt. I feel sad for you.

Sure thing mijo👍
This whole Darnold vs. Purdy is ridiculous.

Darnold was already here, under this coach and with the players currently on this team and he looked like the old Darnold. Minnesota runs a different offense with different weapons under a coach who was a QB when he played. Darnold fits in perfectly there. I'm not sure he can look like this anywhere else.

It's a waste of time; it's never going to happen.

Just a question, how much regular season playing time did Darnold get while in SF ?

Sign me up for that Herbert trade, lol.
Hows about a thread discussing how Brock Purdy would look with Justin FRIGGIN Jefferson?

Just a question, why does that matter? Ohhhh, you think the forums are a better judge of talent than the coaches. Got it.

Ppl dnt want common sense, just these impulsive scenarios. Brock would slay with that Vikings team, playoffs fs
There was zero indication to keep Darold. Hindsight is 202/20. Even if he did, Purdy was a very good MVP type QB in 2023/2024. None sense thread.

or did you forget O'C's first year with Cousins.. and what happened after that ..
That should be all one needs to know about the benefit of having high-quality support around a QB.

Darnold is now being talked about in terms of a $ 40+yr million contract.

Addison is much better than Deebo as well. Imagine what Purdy could do with Jefferson and Addison vs. Aiyuk and Deebo.

Are you serious?

I've been watching a ton of vikes games because of my wife who's from MN so I can say with 100% certainly, there is no way Purdy would slay with Jefferson and Addison. Much like Darnold would look like trash here, Purdy would not fit there.
Purdy simply doesn't have the arm to get them the ball the way Darnold does.

Please refer to the Nailor touchdown yesterday. Sorry man, Purdy can't make that throw. And Darnold does it every game, multiple times.
