Can't see Brock getting anywhere near twice that amount of money. Would bet their contracts end up closer to similar than that wide gulf of a range.

Your math ain't mathing dude.

And if Justin Jefferson isn't coming with Darnold then I'm not interested.
We already saw a straight comparison between the two in the preseason last year. Brock was way quicker on the reads and progression and was quicker at getting rid of the ball. This was against the same teams and defenses. Running the same system.

Why would they just straight downgrade the position for a guy who is older?

If you don't think brocks the guy then just trade him and draft a replacement...

He'll get paid big by someone and I wish him well.

amen. i don't know why so many 49ers fans viewed him adversarial or negatively. maybe folks attached to lance i guess. kyle saw his traits. the 1 year in SF helped him big time. he got a career reset and made good.
If Darnold was available for 25-30m, AND Brock fetched two 2nds or more, I'd do it.

Sam has about the same number of turnovers, but not game costing ones this year and has been more productive.

Decision making can improve for QBs with experience, but natural arm talent just doesn't..
We have seen Darnold in this offense, when it was fully stocked.

Exactly what Krueger and Bruce were teasing. If you could Darnold for cheap(er) and get some draft capital for Brock, is it worth it ? Especially when you would still be looking in the later rounds to draft a QB in both scenarios.

I think yes…

last game was a we already clinched play the backups. it was not 'fully stocked' that's precisely why he played. he was the backup. there was no objective that game, just don't get hurt guys.. calling it him playing 'fully stocked' is highly disingenuous.

Lol
This is so stupid. From whatever angle you look at it it makes no sense.
From our prospective we saw what Sam was in our system and he couldn't best Brock Purdy.
From Minnesota's perspective it does nothing but muddy up their already ugly predicament. If they move on from Sam its for JJ not for Purdy.
The league figured Brock's tendencies and Kyle's playcalling. That with our crappy line, no CMC and Yuk created Brock's off year. Here's still going to pass for almost 4k yards.

Sam has a better line, JJ, Addison, and Aaron Jones.

Brock is still the better QB, but Darnold a better arm. I've seen Darnold flinch under pressure. Let's see how he does in the playoffs before saying he's better than Brock.

Also, if we were crazy enough to trade him we would get a 1st. You all forget how life was with Beathard, and Lance.
