And Darnold, Purdy's football IQ.

@ End of video.

Brock can be highly effective when things are going well. We've seen it. He simply does not have plays like this in his bag.

Ya all are sounding like Nick Wright

He threw it just as far off his back foot with line sitting on his lap in Jacksonville last year. There's throws Darnold can make that Brock can't (same goes for Trey Lance) but this isn't one of them

Not even close to the same type of play. This is a pinpoint laser while he's climbing the pocket.

The play you're talking about is a lofted sideline pass where he had to re-set and had his arm hit on the follow through. It was a nice pass still.

Pinpoint laser? That's a slightly underthrown ball if Brock releases it lol. They aren't the same play, but if Brock can get it there off his back while getting his arm hit, I think it's safe to say he can throw that up to JJ with his momentum moving forward

There's zero chance Purdy can make that play. Nothing wrong with being honest about the players my man.

I don't get how you think that but what ever

Seriously, what a guy lol. Baldinger even says Jefferson adjusts to the toss up to make the catch, but he calls it a pinpoint laser. That is a certified underthrow if Brock threw that

Did you hear him describe how it was located away from the defender? Just because the receiver adjusts doesn't mean the ball wasn't placed where it needed to be to get the completion. And this was on the move through the pocket. It is a stellar throw.

Nobody would describe this pass as underthrown and Brock can't get the ball there in this fashion regardless.

Yes the ball is away from the defender. Jefferson still has to wait on it. This would 100% be called an underthrow if Brock threw it. Brock has already made throws that require more arm strength and I gave an example. Sorry
Makes me wonder if ppl actually watched Purdy those first two seasons with him. He can't do what Dart-old does! If only we had Sam, our season would have been saved.

Yea, you just don't know what you're looking at apparently. You apparently don't understand the concept of throwing somebody open and you're nuts if you think the Brock throw to Kittle shows similar arm strength.

This kind of talent is exactly why Darnold was a high first round prospect. Brock doesn't need it to be effective, as we saw last year, but let's not pretend he has it to make ourselves feel better.

As I just pointed out, and have many times before, there are multiple ways to be successful as a QB short of having plus physical arm talent. Purdy is an example of that. Still, he has less tools than these talented players have… that's why they are prioritized when teams select prospects.
