the reality: you're watching the essence of a stop gap quarterback. Someone that can play, but needs a LOT of help to accomplish anything. In the meantime you look for your future franchise quarterback through the draft.

this is only an option, as Larry Krueger pointed out, if Brock's contract demands are ludicrous. But something tells me you guys are ok with paying Brock 60-65 mil per year

What future franchise QB would that be? Even if I liked Ward or Sanders (and I don't) they won't be around so who is this guy that makes sense to have on bench while Sam the ghost whisperer starts?

Darnold won't be worth whatever he's getting paid. He has a loaded offense, a good OL, a top playcaller and he's out there looking like ass because he falls apart under pressure. You don't sign that guy to anything if you have hopes of winning anything in the playoffs. You sign that guy when you're a 3-14 team, the draft is really weak at QB and you just want to stop sucking completely while you figure things out.

Purdy will get his extension so Larry Krueger can take his option and shove it right up his ass along with most of the other garbage he comes up with.
