Brock Purdy vs Sam Darnold

I'm pretty confident the 9ers are gonna stick it out with Brock regardless of how he performed this season.
Darnold has more arm talent but his decision making has always been his issue. Brock doesn't have the arm talent but his decision making was better.
I honestly cannot believe this is a thread. Darnold has had one good season and he has had bad games this season too. Purdy is younger, better all around and has already shown more than Darnold ever has.

Some of our fans just need to cut down the QB no matter who it is. I'm sure people here would have hated Young at the start too.
I would rather have Sam and get a first and second for Purdy.

Purdy's pocket mobility and awareness eclipse Darnold. This thread is dumb.
It took Sam until his 7th season to play this well. Brock in his 3rd season is way ahead of him at the same point in there careers.
i would say the same regarding Baker and Goff.

Exactly. And Purdy is playing with a hurt shoulder and a terrible offensive line.

Unbelievable. But if Purdy is considered so low here, why should any other team give up such a bounty for him?
Lose a few games and the sharks start circling.Lets just weed out the non-effort and the over-priced players, then get healthy again.

Not this year. He routinely makes boneheaded decisions.

I wouldn't say routinely. Some of his INT's were tipped passes. I will say that he has been holding onto the ball much longer and overlooking his checkdown more than he should be.
Brock's best year (2023) is better than Darnold's (2024), unfortunately, the 49ers had a nightmare season, I expect Brock to bounce back, and maybe even Darnold to regress outside of Minny.

Also, not sure why you assume that Darnold and Ben Johnson and whomever will automatically come to SF when called upon. You have a QB in the building you can win with, you bite the bullet and sign him. If it doesn't work out, hey you took a shot and that's football.
Obviously, the 49ers believe that 2022 and 2023 Brock is more indicative of reality than 2024 Brock.
They are not just going to cross their fingers and sign him, they believe he is the guy.
Let's see how Darnold does in a playoff game. Brock's won 4.

And his Oline stinks even more this year due to injuries. Only Puni has been an upgrade. All other positions are trash

I would rather have a 24 year old Joe Montana at quarterback and get golf lessons from Phil Mickelson.
