A separate number for QBs will only kick the can down the road. It would loosen things up for a few years but teams would soon use up the money on other star players.

Which is a good thing. If you draft and develop star players you should have the opportunity to keep them as much as possible.

My point is that you would wind up with two caps. Both would get maxed out just as they are now.

On one level, I like it because it would be fun to see billionaires fighting to be the first to pay a QB $100 million/year, then $150M, and on and on. In the end, Elon Musk would own the league and all the teams.
