It's all of those factors. The coach can't coach what he doesn't have (healthy players) Brock can't throw to receivers who aren't on the field or who are having a bad year. All these things go into a winning or losing season but some fans want to just blame it all on whoever they don't like.

Purdy might not have the arm or size of Darnold, but he knows how to win consistently. Darnold, after 6 years still hasn't shown that.

Brock was 6-9 this year. If he was a consistent winner 49ers would be in the playoffs.

I tell you this, it would have been 3 straight winning seasons if half the team didn't get hurt.

Early in the year the 49ers had a 23-10 lead against AZ at half time and ended up losing 24-23. Brock failed to lead a 2nd half scoring drive & threw an INT in the 4th to end the game. Late in the year 49ers lost to LA 12-6. Brock completed 45% of his passes for 0 TDs. Yes injuries contributed to this season & defense was bad to end the year and pretty mediocre throughout. But 49ers had winnable games and it mostly came down to QB play.

I donno. Purdy is a lot more athletic than you give him credit for. Is Darnold a better scrambler?
Purdy scrambled the team to the NFC championship 2023. Has Darnold shown that kind of ability or savvy?

Purdy's a better scrambler. He is quicker than Darnold. Also, he's more poised and more aware of what's happening around him which is going to contribute to scrambling ability.

Their 40 times are identical, and Sam is bigger and stronger. I think it's fair to say Sam is more athletic. He's a worse QB though.
