Brock Purdy vs Sam Darnold

If Darnold has any chance of staying in MN he's staying. He knows what he has there. An excellent coach and the best wide receiver in football. And Addison isn't that bad himself.

People think that if Darnold hits the market he's gonna automatically wanna be a 49er and that they'll just get rid of Brock Purdy.
I'll take Brock Purdy everytime.

Sam Darnold is excelling due to circumstances surrounding him, as did Brock Purdy however, Purdys massively underrated escapbaility (reminds me of b***h ass Tony Romo) and impeccable anticipation make him the best chess piece in SHANAHAN'S offense.

Why would Darnold accept a low ball deal.? If the Niners traded for him and made him their starter he would want big money too.

Yeah perhaps. Probably right

And a backup QB role waiting for him. He's not staying in MN

Can't believe this thread is a thing.

Only to clueless fans.

The clueless fans are the ones who still consider Purdy top 10. No one else in the league thinks Purdy is top 10
They did last season, but that is what losing a bunch of weapons can do to perception.

While losing weapons, and quite frankly the bad mojo that has gone on this season, it's legit reasoning.......but the fact is, Purdy himself hasn't looked right either. I've read some people think he's playing hurt, but then how do you explain what he did to Chicago? The fact is, when all the pieces are in place, and he can run play action till the cows come home, he's been very efficient.

I think it's very reasonable to conclude that he's never really proven to ever be a top 10 QB, but as I've stated, I'm not gonna really hold this season against him, or many other Niner players. It's a completely lost season, and it was doomed before week 1 (holdouts/Pearsall shooting/etc.).

Brock is in a slump and doesn't trust what he's seeing. unfortunately, Chicago is an anomaly

I think it may be the opposite. He trusts that TD throw too much that turned into an int when he had 2 or 3 guys underneath that could simply move the chains.

if he's trusting low % completions.. then he's def not seeing the field well

Yup. It's one thing if you have one guy underneath and missing a deep shot - every QB will have those. Brock had multiple, like I said, I believe 3 guys he could've checked down to, but he all but threw any real chance to win that game away.

it's been like that all season. the very reason we don't have our YAC bros anymore

Some of it, yes. Kittle has had his fair share but Deebo has been really a non-factor in that regards pretty much all year.

deebo hasn't helped his case recently, but i've shown plays where he's wide open and just not getting the ball. but purdy is too busy looking deep
