It's ludicrous man. Brock's value isn't living or dying on single plays in a meaningless game.
I am a total fan of Brock and want to keep him, but he is not worth more than 30 million/year.

Yea but unfortunately there is no way that'll happen. Look at all the other QBs that have gotten paid 50M APY. Trevor Lawrence, Tua, Jared Goff, Hurts, Dak. There's no way they are all better than Purdy and to be honest, despite this being a down year for the 49ers, I would still take him over all of those guys.
as underdogs with nothing to lose...

we still lost to this crappy lions team what the hell is going on...

If Brock does not accept 30 million, go with Darnold or Cousins.

None of those guys are going to accept 30 mil lol...
I wouldn't be shocked if Sam Darnold runs it back with Minnesota, despite whatever happens in the playoffs for them.

Maybe they just say screw it on JJ McCarthy and just roll with Darnold and try to trade McCarthy for like a 2nd.
When a QB is the guy, he's worth being the highest paid player in football.

When a QB is not the guy, he's not worth more than you would pay a backup. There is no point in paying a QB more than a million to start if he's not the guy.

Why would anybody want to sign a QB who is not the guy?

Do fans still think that teams besides the Chiefs and their schemes that carry Stat Paddy can win SBs with QBs who are not the guy?

What are fans hoping to save cap space for? More players who are going to get injured and make no significant difference in the outcomes of games anyway?

The team just put a bunch of street free agents out there at left tackle and left guard, continued playing their journeyman caliber center and their backup-caliber right tackle, and the protection was the best it has been all season.

The question is whether Brock is the guy or not. Injured Brock is clearly not. 2023 Brock is. Do they pay Brock hoping 2023 Brock returns, or do they figure his injuries mean he will never be 2023 Brock again? That's the only question that needs to be addressed.

Who the f**k wants Kirk Cousins? For what? You want a guy who will be 37-years-old next season who can't move and has comparable arm strength to Brock as the QB of a team made of glass that isn't that talented to begin with?

Crappy lions team? The #1 seeded and highest scoring team in the NFL?

Maybe I missed the sarcasm lol

I have no idea why Brock was even playing in this game. As long as he is willing to take a 3 year 90 million dollar contract, I would have sat him for the last 2 games and come back healthy with the other players.

Now if he was insisting on more than that, then yes he would need to play still to prove himself.

I have a feeling not wanting to throw his 3rd pick had something to do with him checking himself out of the game. He knew throwing a third was going to hurt his value even more. This way he can save face.

Nonsensical speculation

Oh look.....yet another delusional post from the self-proclaimed "expert". lol

Two points:

1) No clue what you mean by "the guy". Perhaps define what that means, as you seem to use that in most of your posts. You clearly don't think that Mahomes is "the guy", so how do you define it?

2) In a previous post you claimed that teams should just prioritize a QB and a kicker, and then fill in all the rest of the players with whomever is available because QB and Kicker are the really important positions to fill. Just curious.....is it always sunny, and are there any unicorns in that fantasy world that you seem to reside in?
It was nice to see the Niners go up and down the field and score over 30. They would have been over 40 if Moody had hit his FGs and Brock hadn't thrown 2 bad INTs. However if I was a Lions fan I'd be worried. They saw a beat up offense with a makeshift O line dominate their defense. As good as their offense is they're going to have a rough time in the playoffs. The Vikings are a much more balanced team at this point. So are the Eagles. That STAG defense that the Lions have won't get past good teams.

Yup and they will find out this off-season how draining success can be when they lose Ben Johnson, a personal man or two and a couple of their stars want those bags. Those bums thought beating a 6-9 injury plagued team with NO kicker was a whoopin, they do not have playoff metal.

I think MIN will do what it takes to bring Darnold back. You take the QB who you win 14 + games with, and the unknown can sit. rare situation, but obvious in my opinion.
