I wouldn't be shocked if Sam Darnold runs it back with Minnesota, despite whatever happens in the playoffs for them.

Maybe they just say screw it on JJ McCarthy and just roll with Darnold and try to trade McCarthy for like a 2nd.

I think MIN will do what it takes to bring Darnold back. You take the QB who you win 14 + games with, and the unknown can sit. rare situation, but obvious in my opinion.

I agree. The one wrinkle is that Darnold will be looking for a long term contract. If they give him that it might mean McCarthy will never get to play on his rookie deal.

Yea but unfortunately there is no way that'll happen. Look at all the other QBs that have gotten paid 50M APY. Trevor Lawrence, Tua, Jared Goff, Hurts, Dak. There's no way they are all better than Purdy and to be honest, despite this being a down year for the 49ers, I would still take him over all of those guys.

If Brock does not accept 30 million, go with Darnold or Cousins.

Goddamn talk about a late entry to the dumbest post of the year contest
I find it funny that some Lion fans are treating this game like how we went into Philly and destroyed them

It was a good show for sure. zero punts on either side. It's a damn shame this game wasn't more meaningful with two healthy playoff teams, but I'm glad the 49ers showed heart and played hard. They might have lost but they showed the league that they will be back in the fight next year.

It was a little like the Bills-49er game in 1992 except that was when both teams were really good. Young vs Kelly. Over 1000 yards. No punts. All that in an era before the NFL made it easy to pass.

Thanks for proving my point.
Good ratings. Maybe the league shouldn't screw us as bad as they have.

The Niners weren't a pushover. Shows what can happen next year (cause that's where we are) with some really great draft picks, REAL FA, and a healthy team.
My only wish now is that the ratings for all the playoffs DROP HUGE now cause we aren't in it lol...
