I think he will act like it was the biggest game the lions have won since he has been HC. (if they win)

Niners pulling off the upset! In return will hurt their draft position.
This whole year has been a disaster. The Lions are on a mission and will want payback for last year. Love the Niners but this could get ugly. But who knows, the Lions could…………… Oh forget it. Happy New Year's everyone
The Lions still want that #1 overall seed in the NFC so there won't be any letup. The Niners players aren't going to tank but they just don't have the horses right now.

Does that really matter?

I mean, we're talking about the GM / HC combo who horrifically whiffed on a top-3 overall pick... twice.

Yes, it matters. Say a player falls to 11th but is not on our board.....we can trade back for more picks. We have a lot of holes to fill.....getting the highest draft position we can will at least improve our odds of a faster mini-rebuild. It doesn't me we will hit on our selections, but I'd rather be selecting 11th in all of the rounds than in a later spot. Better trade value and better chance of whomever is on our board being available. I know there are no guarantees but I'll take the better odds.

I was thinking the same thing 😬.. We all know we're doomed this week.

I don't know why some article posted on the zone homepage was indicating whether or not the Lions bring it on Monday depends on what happens with Vikes/Packers. Even Cambpell was like, I believe, "we're going to play to win". I mean, why would you not play "win" and go for the #1 seed? If Packers beat the Vikes and the 49ers beat the Lions in week 17, the winner of Lions/Vikes in week 18 has huge seeding implications especially depending on how Philly closes out the reg season with its last two games.

I expected someone to start this thread earlier and only did so myself because it's tough for me to wrap my brain around the idea that the NFL would want to showcase a non-playoff contender on MNF in Week 17. It feels like a deliberate slap in the face to the 49ers.

They're one game up on the Eagles for the top seed. I'm pretty sure they want to stay there.
