Luke Ferrell Pleased with Pro Day

Kyle definitely wants to run the ball, and needs a great blocking TE
49ers led the NFL with a 55 percent success rate out of 12 personnel (2 TE) in 2023 at 55 percent. The problem is they only used that grouping 23 percent of the time, which was 27th in the NFL. ...

He also had 3 head coaches and multiple OCs under the Baalke regime. It's an underrated deterrent for player development - he now gets some stability wi the 49ers.

I don't love the value of the contract, but it finally gives us stability after we have had patch work signings for our blocking TE role. And given Juice's departure, maybe Farrell will player a bigger role than expected.

Great post

Meh, lots of cash for a blocking TE.

If it leads to more redzone consistencty/scoring, it's worth it.

Well with one less quality RB in the stable, they are definitely drafting one again. Which is fine, great RB draft.

exactly, our FO during Free Agency makes brain dead moves like this all the time.

a Baalke boy.
If OTC is correct the deal isn't worth $20.25M base value, its worth $15.75M over 3yrs, so $5.25M a yr, not a bad deal IMO for a good blocking TE, who has upside.

We could give 45 million to Kinlaw. That would be great. If they gave Bosa the contract he got from Buffalo and he got hurt, you'd be calling the FO brain dead for signing an injury prone player.
