So what is this guy supposed to be? A blocking TE and backup? There is not much production there. I don't see how this is such a big priority.

Probably the easiest one to knock out first.

Have you been following the thread?
He is a VERY strong pass blocker (2nd best in the league) who will free Kittle to run more routes. Rate the signing on the increase in Kittle production next year.
Farrell is here for a good reason.

Based on what? Your opinion?
You are entitled to that but opinions without supporting facts and evidence just burns up cyber space.

You have plenty of people talking about TE2 in the rebuild thread like it's a huge need. Now that we bring a guy in clearly identified as that TE2 it's not a big priority

I know there was a lot of talk of Saubert/Willis not getting the job done on many a run blocking play and clearly the team wanted a similar type of player in tendering Brock Wright from the Lions last offseason(Lions unfortunately matched the offer)

It's like the Niners TE scout lucked into evaluating Kittle & has shut it down ever since. Woerner (not bad), Latu, the gold helmet guy from Oklahoma, Kaden Smith.

Sound reasons based on evidence and precedent have been cited, and you laugh. SMH

A lot of that is going to be incentives. Right now it looks like a 2 year, $11 million dollar deal for an elite blocking tight end.
