Lmaoo if that is true then he def shouldn't be allowed any where near the draft board. There was nothing "blown away" about his film unless you were playing make believe and projecting him in your dreams.

idk what the real story is but I think there is more to this story than we know right now. Won't come out for a long long time.

I don't think Kyle was "over ruled". I think he liked what he saw from both, but his preference was a "Matt Ryan" type qb. He eventually convinced himself that the raw prospect with "upside" would be worth it and upper management liked it from a business perspective. Drafting Mac jones wouldn't have been exciting at the time cause we had Jimmy and no one really thought Mac would be miles better than jimmy.

I've never seen a reaction like our online fanbase had at the prospect of drafting Jones. It was overwhelmingly negative and loud. Jed noticed for sure.

Brock is a natural competitor, I think Mac can push him a bit. Always better to have a competitive QB room. Dobbs and Allen were not that.

If we put aside the draft history of Mac Jones and all the rumors that swirled - it's not a bad signing. A cheap backup that you have a chance to win a few games with if need be.

99% of the time - teams don't have backup qbs as guys who potentially can take over the starting job. Backups are usually veteran guys who can help the starter get prepped and help the defense from scout team. Then you want them to have the ability to win a few games if needed. They aren't really seen as "season saviors". We got lucky with Brock

It was absolutely insane. Jones had no business being talked about as a top 5 pick, BUT, Lance had no business being talked about as a top 2 day pick.
The trade up with no one specific in mind was the worst one I've ever seen.
Mac was, is and always will be better than Lance, and the 2 or 3 guys on this board who called that were shunned.
Guys like NY and half the board whose knowledge comes from random tweeters were up in arms.
This is a joke right? LOL

Obviously none of the three QBs would have been good picks, but I think Jones was the only one who made sense with our team at the time.

Can't develop a project passer and win a SB at the same time. A cheaper, healthy, Jimmy G quality player with room to grow would have been a better fit, though not sexy at all.

I trust our FO more times than I don't, but I've never liked McCorkle.
I think Jameis would have been a better QB2. I wonder what happened with those negotiations?
It must have been the MON€Y …

They were at the table ready for signing but then he busted out this sh!t so they said f'k this guy

The one who will have your daughter home by ten.

The one who will have her doing multiple lines of coke.

lol it was brutal. No way they didn't notice. The public wouldn't be able to change Kyle's opinion but it def influenced the business side guys perspective - which have voice's inside the building.

id love to think everything is all about football, all the time; but this is a business. Money doesn't talk, it screams.

Yes there would be. There isn't a single thing Mac does better than Purdy.

My only concern is Mac hurting Purdy Tonya Harding style.

Brock ain't got swag like this

You might beg to differ if you saw him wearing Ariat boots at Stoney's

He was wild back in college winning titles. He has since gotten married and settled down. Pro bowler as well

They didn't know you could smoke crack at football games during halftime
I wanted Mac Jones in the draft, and watched most of Mac Jones's NFL work with the Pats.....

Straight up, he has some talent....but I absolutely can not stand the dude.... he is Cancer.

If I had a Time Machine and power over the 49ers draft...if my only choice was Trey (knowing Trey sucks) or Mac....I take Trey 10 out of 10 times.

I would much rather root for a dude with a good attitude. Mac is a pouty little man child.

If Mac could grow up and find Jesus....he has enough talent to turn his career around...I just don't want to have to watch it.
