You talking about your boy Fields or your boy Wilson? As they too are off to their 3rd team in 5 years.
Dumb and dumber free agency move. Why? i am not a fan of this move.

Nope. That would be Justin Fields (who I wanted from the moment we made that trade).

But he wouldn't have been worth it either so it's whatever.

Why not? We need a backup QB. I am not a fan of Mac either but obviously Shanahan sees something in him and he's a backup being paid backup money.

Was hoping Tanner Mordecai showed enough in training camp and preseason to take the #2 job. Well I think he can get the 3rd spot at least.

Purdy
Jones
Mordecai

Better than what was last season.

I hope he gets the 3rd as well, I like Mordy fs. Allen was pretty much a suck sandwich.

There's not much to dislike. He's coming in as a #2. Still has untapped potential. Kyle is obviously very keen and will give him plenty of attention. He's nowhere near good enough to challenge Purdy for the top spot (which is a good thing). The money looks right.

Only negative I can think of is locker room fit, personality stuff. But I'm not overly concerned.

Brock Purdy would have performed the same exact way playing on the teams that Mac jones played on.

im not a Mac jones fan at all. But it's a good signing. He could be our starter if things with Purdy don't get done and jones will probably play on par with Purdy. Very similar floors and ceilings. Purdy can move much better but jones can throw stronger.

if things go south with Purdy, Mac jones comes in and gives us decent play. again we will be stuck in QB purgatory but I hope this signing ensures we don't avalanche and pay Purdy as a top 5 QB

Had a chance to sleep on the move and woke up thinking...yup still don't like it lol.

Something about the guy just rubs me the wrong way. I like the talent and fit as the backup but I don't want guys like him on the squad normally.

Cool. That just happens to be the opening we have.

Ah yes the beauty of hypotheticals.

Mac Jones and Brock Purdy couldn't be further alike as leaders. That is an important part of playing QB. Jones is in the likes of Goff and Darnold. Solid to good when things are great around them - but if pressured, they b***h up.

If the quarterback is smart, this is just the type of thing Kyle will have a chance to settle down. If you have to give up something for a BU QB, Kyle would rather give on brawn than brain. Who knew?
