But one of the reasons we were 6-11 is because of lack of depth. Now we have gone backwards with that depth so it seems to me we will be in the same 6-11 situation. Still early obviously but like I said above, you don't just automatically replace some of these guys even if they weren't the greatest players.

You're right but I'm confident when it's all said and done we have a roster that's maxed out going into camp and then cut down to the same roster size as all the other teams.

The question will be will the guys we bring in give us better depth or not. That remains to be seen of course but we still have enough big time players to fill i the cracks around them.

You don't have to unload the whole team all at once. Unless you want to buy a soccer franchise in UK. This team will get worse. Then yes you can get better over time. But we are talking about a 3 - 4 year rebuild at minimum now. You would have to have an A+ draft for 2 years in a row (2025 & 2026) to turn it around faster. You would have hit on almost all draft picks. Plus find some steals and real finds later on. Which they sometimes do. But you got to be better in the 1st and 2nd rounds than we are. No more misses and they better be a position of need. Rebuild the TRENCHES. Realistically you are looking at 3+ years of rebuilding. There are more holes than Swiss cheese on this roster.

Can we please stop with this soccer club buying affecting the 49ers junk stuff?

49ers group originally bought into Leeds in May of 2018. Did that impact the 49ers in a terrible way? In 2018 Garoppolo got injured in week 3 and we tanked the rest of the year cuz we had no edge rushers worth a damn.

Made the SB twice in the next 7 years. Made the NFCCG 4 times in the following 7 years following the original sale.

The idea that the Yorks have to cut costs with the 49ers to pay for their Leeds purchase given their net worth is ridiculous.

I've listed several teams doing the turnaround within a season. So I don't know what you're talking about 3-4 year rebuild. Funny thing is you want to get rid of Kyle so bad and yet we're constantly being stripped of players he's been in charge of us bringing in and coaching up. And you're also here overreacting to those players leaving.

Pick a side man.
I think they took a realistic look at the current team and decided they needed to make these cuts for the future. In 2023 many people felt they had th best roster in football. They were about as healthy as any NFL team can be. They made it to the SB and still lost. Those players are all 2 years older and some serious injuries way from that SB.

If they kept all those players what were the chances of them staying healthy like 2023 and making it back to the SB. It was time to do what they're doing and hope the draft works out. If they get lucky and hit some winners they could surprise a lot of people. At the keast they could set themselves up for another 3-5 year run of playoffs.

I don't get the talk of "blowing it up". We got a decent roster. Yes it's not the best but its decent. We needed to trim fat and we needed to get younger. We don't need to be paying top dollar or some average vets in free agency that will only drain our cap and will need to be replaced 2 years down the road. .

Build through the draft and next year when the dead cap space clear maybe we make a bigger splash for some of yall who need to see big free agency spending.

We might not make the playoffs with this roster. Depth is a concern as is gaps in who starts.

The team had massive redzone and speciam teams issues last year. Otherwise this wouldve been a playoff team capable of winning a game. Who did we lose that makes you think we can't male the playoffs- assuming redzone and special teams issues are addressed?

LOL at all of the bolded

Agree with the underlined
we can get younger an cheaper while still acquiring playmakers. those two things can happen at the same time lets not act like they cant.
Maybe the team is really high on the depth in this draft. Great way to reset the roster obviously if they hit on majority of picks similar to last year.

Also really need Purdy to make that jump and be able to carry this team once he gets paid. Get paid like a franchise QB, time to show it. I think he's plenty young to still become that QB that puts the team on his back. Become a Brees like QB that is surgical.
If this is a Football decision made by the football people, I'm in
If it's the Yorks saying stop spending our cash ( Kawakami's take )I'm out.
There is no reason to keep any of high priced players at this point if they can save a lot of money and trade them for a lot of assets come trade time.

Bingo. Doesn't have to be the top end FA either.

Of course there is. You can't get rid of everyone, especially if you want to maintain the culture/standard for young guys coming into the team.
Gotta get younger, then we got a guy on the front page who looks to be 58 years old that we are considering

I'm glad the team isn't operating like the Warriors and keeping guys around for what they accomplished three or four seasons ago, ignoring their issues with injuries and egos.
Really? Who would you like them to just release? Steph? Draymond? Lacob and the Warriors ownership >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> York and 49ers. Really a dumb post

If the moves have alarmed you, I fear you are missing the reality of where we are today. We are in rebuild/reload/restaff/renew/refurbishing/re-(whateves) this franchise. My only question is if there is more to come. If there is another off-loading to come, I would think it would occur around the draft. There is also the possibility of the unknown. How many players that are left, here I mean our stars, have the patience for a re-(whateves)? Maybe, they will want out. We shall soon find out.

I counted 14 players leaving the Niners yesterday. This is definitely a rebuild AND a cheapening of the salaries being paid. This at a minimum a two year change with the soonest possible sniff of a return to the playoffs in 2027. These next two drafts are going to be a base for what happens in the future with almost a whole new OLine (Trent will NOT get a championship with us), a whole DLine (Nicky suffering the same fate as Trent), and replacements for other players who move on. But, still ride or die w/ the Niners
