The O will be fine, especially with Juice coming back. If Purdy is a $50m player, he needs to be able to lift the offense , not just manage it.
The D really, really weak. I just hope they pick up a few vets so that we aren't forced to draft for need. That's a sure way to stay in "reload" mode for a decade. The roster is depleted enough that you can use an upgrade just about anywhere. Take the best player in every round

And the other side of the trenches we need a swing tackle, starting LG, and starting center. That's 9 draft picks used on the trenches and can't miss on any of them. And still need a free safety and #2 Linebacker.
We most certainly do not need to draft 3 edges and 3 DT's.

We really just need a veteran DL or two then I'll feel alright.
Calais Campbell and Z Smith would be great short term veteran depth

I am counting on Bartch at LG and Zakelj and Burford as acceptable depth.
I am counting on Winters and Bethune to take the next step in development with Robinson as quality depth.
Biggest needs, no particular order:
1. Starting DT
2. Starting big end (base downs) who kicks inside on passing downs
3. Starting C
4. Starting FS
5. 3rd CB
Next Tier, no particular order:
1. Swing tackle (bigger need if looking beyond this season, Trent replacement)
2. Dynamic pass rushing end (passing downs only)
3. 6th WR / BA insurance
4. TE 3, future Kittle replacement
Honestly, with an assumption of health (a huge IF, especially BA) this offense is a top C away from being extremely dynamic. Other pieces needed are depth and planning for veteran replacements.
The D needs multiple new starters and multiple 2nd/3rd yr players to step up.

MLB - Warner
NB - ?
RCB - Green

is Kalil Davis no longer on the roster?
if we can get like 8-10 of the following 19 listed to step up and become a starter or take their game to another level, that would be huge:
Ji'Ayir Brown
Dee Winters
Darrell Luter Jr.
Ben Bartch
Spencer Burford
Jake Brendel lol
Colton McKivitz (another level)
Robert Beal Jr.
Sam Okuayinonu
Drake Jackson lol
Jauan Jennings (yet another level)
Ricky Pearsall
Jacob Cowing
Curtis Robinson
Tatum Bethune
Jalen Graham
Evan Anderson
Nick Zakelj
Matt Hennessy
I don't know if there are 8-10 though
I have faith in Jennings, Pearsall and Anderson as a rotational guy, but that's about it
I like the LBs and Luter though, and even Brown still, but they all need a lot of work
it would be kinda cool if we ended up having 4 rookies starting on defense and another on OL though
biggest needs:
DTx2
DE
LG, ideally one who can become a LT
C
LT/swing tackle
RT
DT again
LB
WR
TE
NB
FS
DT
WR
K

Just an FYI here's the current 2025 offseason roster by position.
QB: 13 Brock Purdy(2025), -- Mac Jones(2026), & 4 Tanner Mordecai(2025)
RB: 23 Christian McCaffrey(2027), 31 Isaac Guerendo(2027), 32 Patrick Taylor Jr.(2025), & 20 Israel Abinikanda(2026)
FB: 44 Kyle Juszcyzk
WR: 11 Brandon Aiyuk(2028), 15 Jauan Jennings(2025), 14 Ricky Pearsall(2027), -- Demarcus Robinson(2026), 19 Jacob Cowing(2027), 84 Russell Gage(2025), 83 Terique Owens(2025), -- Isaiah Hodgins(2025), & 81 Trent Taylor(2025),
TE: 85 George Kittle(2025), -- Luke Farrell(2027), 88 Jake Tonges(2025), 9 Brayden Willis(2025), & 89 Mason Pline(2025)
C: 64 Jake Brendel(2026), 61 Matt Hennessy(2025), & 66 Drake Nugent(2025)
OG: 77 Dominick Puni(2027), 78 Ben Bartch(2025), 74 Spencer Burford(2025), 63 Nick Zakelj(2025), & 69 Zack Johnson(2025)
OT: 71 Trent Williams(2026), 68 Colton McKivitz(2025), 60 Sebastian Gutierrez(2025), 67 Isaac Alarcon(2025), 62 Austen Pleasants(2025), & -- Jalen McKenzie(2025)
DE: 97 Nick Bosa(2028), 94 Yetur Gross-Matos(2025), 51 Robert Beal Jr.(2026), 91 Sam Okuayinonu(2025), 95 Drake Jackson(2025), 58 Alex Barrett(2025), 96 Jonathan Garvin(2025), & 59 Tarron Jackson(2025)
DT: 90 Kevin Givens(2025), & 92 Jordan Elliott(2025)
NT: 93 Kalia Davis(2025), & 69 Evan Anderson(2025)
LB: 54 Fred Warner(2026), 53 Dee Winters(2026), 48 Tatum Bethune(2027), 41 Jalen Graham(2025), 36 Curtis Robinson(2025), -- Luke Gifford(2025), & 47 DaShaun White(2025)
CB: 2 Deommodore Lenoir(2029), 0 Renardo Green(2027), 28 Darrell Luter Jr.(2026), -- Tre Brown(2025), -- Tre Tomlinson(2026), 26 Chase Lucas(2025), & 36 Tre Avery(2025)
S: 27 Ji'Ayir Brown(2026), 6 Malik Mustapha(2027), 30 George Odum(2026), -- Richie Grant(2025), -- Jason Pinnock(2025), 38 Jaylen Mahoney(2025), & -- Quindell Johnson(2025)
PK: 4 Jake Moody(2026)
P: 3 Mitch Wishnowsky(2026)
LS: -- Jon Weeks(2025)
Should be 72 players there signed for 2025, so 18 open roster spots, 11 draft picks, + 8-10 UDFAs, some of those reserve/futures contract guys could be cut after we sign our UDFAs, depending on how many we sign/agree to terms with.

Underestimating Okuayinonu, he played great in his limited playing time, got reps over Beal, he can also rush from the inside.

And do you mean Kalia Davis or Khalil Davis? Kalia is signed, Khalil is a UFA.

Agreed, and even just adding one quality vet, maybe via trade or a FA like C. Campbell whom you mentioned. He can still play at his age, and could also help show the ropes to any DL draftees (hoping for at least two).

Yeah there were two on the roster last year, #50 Khalil Davis that we traded for at the deadline, and then #93 Kalia Davis, a 6th rd pick in 2022 out of UCF, who will be a RFA after 2025 since he started the 2022 season on NFI and stayed there the entire season recovering from ACL injury.

Honestly, with an assumption of health (a huge IF, especially BA) this offense is a top C away from being extremely dynamic. Other pieces needed are depth and planning for veteran replacements.
The D needs multiple new starters and multiple 2nd/3rd yr players to step up.
Other players I believe in and am counting on:
* Evan A developing into our base down starting NT, a la 2019 DJ Jones
* Malik M as an above average starting S
* Renardo G as an above average starting CB
* Sam O and YGM as solid DE rotational depth - especially Sam O
* Jauan and Ricky as a starting caliber WR duo until BA is back
* Bonus - if somehow Cowing has developed enough in the offense that Kyle trusts him in Yr2 that would be huge…..but not quite counting on that yet.

Well, figured Mason would be dealt, got 2 picks, sent 1 & Mason, now we have 72 players signed, was 73, I typed wrong number, makes sense, since apparently the 49ers gave Patrick Taylor Jr. $300K fully guaranteed, according to OTC.
