This offseason has sucked, but this is an absurd question…

Dude, P-Willy's retirement wasn't "somewhat surprising". It was entirely surprising and out of left field. It would be as if Fred Warner retired next year.
2015 was the offseason from hell.

Not at all surprised if you look at the SB Champion Eagles and in division Rams.
Build through the draft with high motor, talented, cheap talent. Mostly, on the defensive and offensive lines.

How is this even debatable? 2015 was way worse.
the issue now is they simply haven't brought anyone in to fill holes and improve at spots that were problems before we lost people in FA.
IMO it the neglect to improve the roster this off season that's the issue. Not the mass exodus of talent like in 2015.

I mean the Rams OL is dogs**t. They've gotten lucky that they've been able to remake that DL (hitting on day 2 picks).
Philly has been burning picks on the trenches for a decade. Multiple 1sts and spending up the ass to pay for that OL.
It's not like Philly hasn't been spending in FA or trading for players for years to get where they are.
you're either getting better or worse and SF has absolutely gotten worse and done nothing to improve thus far.

You win in the trenches. I rather emphasize that then pay a top FB that isn't used or WRs that don't get separation in the top game(s).
Hopefully, they hit on 70% of their picks and pick up guys like Green and Mustapha etc. from last year.

This team could easily be headed for a top 3 - 5 pick.

Could be headed for a top 3-5 pick. Could be headed to the SB. Or anything in between.

Easily 2015 because many departures were unexpected. 2025 is paying the piper. The Mooney signing when we knew we had some big extensions coming up. The Hargrave signing, which was a splurge signing at the time. All the restructuring the past couple years to kick the can down the road - it's time to pay the price for that. So at least the 2025 exodus has a reason.

Each season there are two winners. Win the SB, or win the #1 overall.

2015 by far and away, compounded by the loss of a quality coaching staff and replacing them with a group of clowns.

In 2015 the purge was worse but there was hope that maybe we could find another coach and build up.
In 2025 we're stuck with Kyle Shanahan despite the purge so there's no hope. Hopefully the whispers in the media are true. This could spell the end of Kyle Shanahan in SF. Can't wait !
