POLL: Worse "Roster Purge" / Mass Exodus? 2015 vs 2025

I doubt it will be that bad......we have a pretty easy schedule this year compared to the last few years. I just hope Shanahan plays the new draftees to get them experience, so that we can start kicking a$$ again by 2027.

In 2025 we're stuck with Kyle Shanahan despite the purge so there's no hope. Hopefully the whispers in the media are true. This could spell the end of Kyle Shanahan in SF. Can't wait !

Oh look, it's DrEll hoping we have a bad season. The way you support your team.

During the regular season he only posts after a loss. This offseason he kept saying how Kyle won't get rid of Sorensen and Schneider. When we signed Saleh he was MIA for like 2 weeks. Zero joy because he just wants to see this team fail. He's not a fan anymore, he's just here to troll and get his dose of attention. The guy literally wake ups on weekdays and weekends at 3-4 AM just to post about how Kyle is awful.

It hurts to lose players to whom we have become attached. But, if I'm being honest, the only player whose performance I'll miss is Greenlaw.

UFAs that left:
- Greenlaw's energy and performance will be sorely missed. No guarantee he will be the same, but I think he will pull through. Reports said he wanted to leave to be the #1 LB somewhere.
- Hufanga had already been replaced with Mustapha.
- Banks wasn't very good, and his backups seemed to perform better.
- Ward was leaving regardless.
- Yiadom - meh
- Dobbs - meh
- Allen - meh
- Jaylon Moore would have been nice to keep, but he was overpaid.
- Elijah Mitchell - surprised he didn't get hurt signing that contract with the chiefs.

Traded away:
- Deebo will turn it on this year for another payday, but likely to fall back after that. He could be pretty lazy, and running his mouth without backing it up was frustrating. The force feeding of Deebo had grown ineffective the last 2 years.

Released:
- Hargrave - oft-injured with us, it just didn't work out.
- Flannigan-Fowles - meh
- Juice - will miss his leadership, but his performance did drop off and he is getting old and too light (not the bulldozer he was as a Raven).
- Floyd - a big surprise to me, but he couldn't stop the run worth a darn.
- Collins - also surprising, but same issue as Floyd.

I am probably forgetting some, but all in all, a lot of underperforming players. I think some would have worked in rotational roles, but nothing to get upset about.

at bolded above. I would have loved to Keep Greenlaw and Moore everyone else not that big of a deal. Will miss Juice.

Im sure the mod you're responding to will be happy to point out that I was on a timeout during that period. Just got a timeout the other days for calling Kyle and Jed butt buddies. Apparently that hurt a certain mod's feelings.

Who's out there that would be better? Kyle took over a bad team rebuilt it in about 3 years and gave us 2 SuperBowl appearances.

these whispers are far from true. ask TK and Barrows. you should just quit this forum and stop presenting us with your dumb ass takes. we all know your posting history.

imagine still posting here when you have ZERO credibility as a member.

I hate it when they try to silence the voice of a generation!

2015 by far, are you kidding me?

Justin Smith, Patrick Willis, Chris Borland and Anthony Davis retired. Frank Gore, Mike Iupati and Crabtree gone as FAs. Tomsula hired as HC with possibly the worst staff in football backing him up. It was a disaster.

yeah that was a disaster to the point where I had to stop watching like midseason that year. It was depressing

I stopped taking this place seriously after that. So many "respected" posters were adamant how this was a great thing and we were still a contender.
I don't know if this has been mentioned yet or not but Teams have spent $321 million on Niner free agents this offseason, The most in NFL history.
Not the time to ask this because if we fall flat on our face and enter another dark age it could rival 2015, this squad has had a longer run than the harbaugh but players like Gore, Justin, Willis, Bowman, Staley, Davis even Alex on that magical 2011 run deserved a ring so damn bad sticking with us through those dark ages it still makes my stomach turn . That purge the writing was on the wall you knew it was over this one there's still some hope we bounce back

I'm so sorry, I hope you're doing okay.

But if that's the case, you must have some posts admitting you were wrong or at least being happy regarding our hires. Link at least one and I'll stop calling you a troll.
2015 was far worse because we had guys getting arrested left and right, and Willis broke everyone's hearts by retiring.

I'm sure Patrick's heart was broken as well when he realized his foot problems would never allow him to play the game again the way he wanted.
