2015 by far, are you kidding me?
Justin Smith, Patrick Willis, Chris Borland and Anthony Davis retired. Frank Gore, Mike Iupati and Crabtree gone as FAs. Tomsula hired as HC with possibly the worst staff in football backing him up. It was a disaster.
This don't even need to read rest of replies, we lost so many HOF quality players, Gore, Smith, Willis, Borland retires after 1yr, Anthony Davis retires, then eventually un-retires but refuses to play G, lose Iupati and lost one of, if not the best WR we had at the time(forget if we still had Boldin or not), 2025 sucks, but we lost Ward, who was leaving after the tragedy, he needed a fresh start so I respect that, Banks was overpaid, average at best LG, Ben Bartch outplayed him, Hufanga got a lot, I wasn't willing to go $15M a yr, Deebo & Juice were just not playing up to par, Hargrave & Floyd were clearly bad FA moves, Dre is the one that sucks/hurts the most, cause we don't have a replacement on the roster, at least with Ward, we drafted Green, for Deebo we got Pearsall & Cowing, for Banks we drafted Puni, who we thought would be a LG, but because Feliciano was hurt he won the RG spot, plus as mentioned Bartch was bette than Banks, Mustapha was drafted, & as I predicted a year ago he would replace Hufanga, so basically we lost an average G, injury prone LB & S, a diva WR, injury prone IDL, overpaid EDGE, oh & a backup LT who got $15M a yr? Like WTF?
So, yeah 2015 sucks more, we fired Harbaugh, lost 3 HOF players, very good LB, RT, G, & WR, let's all realize that we're not doomed, the roster is still going to be among the best IMO, 11 picks, I like the ST signees, I like Robinson, & Farrell signings, Brown, Pinnock, Grant offer Secondary help, and face it, Lynch is a way better GM than Baalke ever was, yeah we've missed on a lot of picks, but we also hit on a lot under Lynch, Baalke kept drafting guys who never should have been picked where they were, AJ Jenkins, LaMichael James, Marcus Lattimore(never played a down), Tank Carradine, Joshua Garnett, Will Redmond, Rashard Robinson, DeAndre Smelter, Marcus Martin, Brandon Thomas, Vance McDonald, Corey Lemonier, Bruce Ellington, Chris Culliver, the best picks Baalke made were IMO Buckner, Armstead, Kaepernick for 1 1/2 yrs, Aldon Smith(somewhat, cause he was a headcase, never could stay out of trouble), Trent Brown, & Tartt, none are HOF players IMO, I love Buckner as much as the rest, but he gets/got pushed around way too easily, he didn't have the size to play in our system, and for people who say to let go of players attachment, people can't stop bringing up Buckner for some reason.
At least Lynch drafted Bosa, Dre, DJ Jones, Kittle, Warner, Brock, Green, Pearsall, Green, Mustapha, Puni, Guerendo, DJ Reed(was dumb to waive him, also was dumb for the NFL to cut offseason rosters from 90 to 80 players that year), Aiyuk(Like him or not or his deal he's a good WR, is he worth $30M a yr idk, probably not), Deebo(Was great in 2021, also his rookie year he was good, but things fell off), Jennings, Lenoir, Mitchell(Was good when healthy), plus they found some UDFA gems, like Breida(later traded for a 5th), Mason,
Yes we have had bad picks, but you can't/won't hit on every pick every draft, if you hit on 30%0-35% of picks that's a good thing, and fact is most of draftees don't see the 3rd yr of their rookie deal, Lynch is a top 10 GM IMO, there's a reason Baalke's got canned twice as a GM, he's the one who started the rift with him & Harbaugh, but Harbaugh was a dick, plus Tomsula was somewhat of a snitch, Jed had no balls back then, he's grown a set, now he has one, I don't mind this offseason, would I like to have seen a nice tier 1 guy signed? Sure, but not at the risk of the our cap health in the future.
