I'm liking our "starters" and we have nice role players in the wings like; Pearsall, Cowing, Robinson, Guerendo, Farrell, Okuayinonu, Robinson, Davis, Beal Jr, Brown that will be key contributors.

With 11 picks in the draft, we will bulk up our lines and hopefully find a few more instant contributors.

I read a lot of people thinking the sky is falling but sitting back and looking at the roster and our draft position, I am really feeling confident about this upcoming season. Remember, we will have a pretty cupcake schedule. Also, Vegas has us at +1400 to win the Super Bowl which is the 6th best.

I am pumped and ready to rock and roll! Sucks it's only April but I'm still HYPED!

GO NINERS! QUEST FOR 6!

I respect the optimism but I'm very glad we have a draft coming up…and we need to be on our best game in this one cuz we need likely 3-4 starters with the current roster and a ton of depth.

The core of our team are homegrown drafted players. I have confidence in Lynch/Shanny to add some studs. But you're right, we definitely need to HIT and not MISS
I don't see a stripped 6-11 team, with zero key additions, to all of a sudden flip their record to 11-6. They need help to get into the playoff, even with an easy schedule.
The wild card is Saleh. Our interior DL looks possibly worst in the league, terrible FS, only 1 LB, only 1 good cb (jury out on green but arrow up, so maybe 2 good cb).... Against maybe Saleh works his magic but on paper we need some work done

The biggest thing is what French brought up above - the coaching changes.

Those could be huge boosts to the defense and special teams as it is, even with the stripped down roster it's possible they play better cuz of the coaching.

Guys coming back from injuries will also be critical and potentially the jump from 2nd year players…tho nothing is guaranteed cuz we've seen promising rookies have let down 2nd seasons. We can't have that happen.

Good news is the draft looks good at our biggest needs. Hopefully the team finds the best of the bunch and the infusion of young talent gets us back into SB contention.
I wh you posted this on a Wednesday.

I think you overlooking the injuries from last year.
No, almost half our roster should be backups, we are not in the best shape. Don't think we are a dumpster fire, might be best to rip the bandaid off like they did but I'd be pleasantly surprised if we have a winning season. It can happen though I'll never forget 2011 same roster that sucked ass for years turned into a historical juggernaut

Have you looked at our schedule? We play last place teams in three divisions, plus a motley collection of other also-rans. We have a roster with 5 future first-ballot HOFers, plus other very good young players like Lenoir, Mustapha, Puni, Green, Pearsall, Jennings...and a well above-average starting QB. LV has the over/under at 10.5. I'm taking the over!

Might feel more confident after the draft but our run defense looks utterly terrible, pass rush looks par at best our secondary is young, and outside of Trent Williams who is getting older our pass protection scares me. I understand this isn't the final roster but going into this season with what we have as of now doesn't make me optimistic at all. That and lack of depth, like I said a lot of our starters should be the wing. Imagine if TW, JJ, Mustapha, Bosa, Lenoir, Green, Warner, or god forbid any of our DTs get injured are you confident we go 11-6?

Football, more than any other sport, is highly dependent on coaching. We had god awful DC.... Idk we'll see

Vegas disagrees with you

I feel good because we're undefeated this season.
I'm also optimistic, but there are big question marks over Aiyuk and McCaffrey. How that plays out will have a big impact either way.
