Foster Freeze was a better LB, he head just not screwed tight ... Martin can at least be a leader..

Go look how many Top 30 visits Martin had. A lot of teams showed interest in him. He was definitely not lasting until the 5th round or whatever nonsense people are coming up with.

so what? can try pick him at the end of the 3rd. Or if you miss out on him, that's life, there was a lot of other talent available.

lol I swear

some fans are so clueless

if you like a player you get them this isnt madden lol

Chris Borland and this guy are as different as any two lb prospects, I don't see any resemblance aside from both being short for a linebacker.

Chris Borland was a very good and reliable tackler. This guy misses a lot of tackles. A lot.

All these mocks literally mean nothing. They're just random people's opinions and I highly doubt most of them thoroughly studied and vetted every single player in the draft - you know like an entire team of a ton of employees who's job is to look into every player all the time, everyday. Lol

now I wish we could see other teams draft board, that would be interesting but not apples to apples with how the niners put their board together because it's tailored towards their roster, coaches, scheme, philosophy

I dare them to put up a comprehensive list of their picks verses where the player was actually drafted.

It's also silly to harping on drafting 14 spots early in the 3rd. The difference is a 4th round pick. That is backup territory in most teams cases.

Problem is, all of these were horrible picks except for Puni and Warner

lol

If there's one guy I'm gonna trust at evaluating LBs, it's Robert Saleh.
The guy was a big part of the Niners drafting Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw. And then he developped Quincy Williams into a terrific player with the Jets.
And remember Fred and Dre were supposed to be reaches when they were drafted.
Look Nick Martin is not necessary the guy I thought they were gonna draft. I thought they would have gone with another hybrid Safety/LB.
But the player is exciting. It's hard to not see the comparison with Dre the way he plays.
Maybe they could have trade back and still draft him but you never know. Besides it's not like he's a first or second rounder so I'm fine.
Again Fred was supposed to be a reach in the third round.
I really like that the team drafts locker room leaders and team captains. This is another guy with a bright future.
