Per PFF, C.J. West had the 10th highest run defense grade for interior DL last season, 88.1. The 49ers have now added five defenders, most of them in the middle of the defense:

- DE Mykel Williams
- DT Alfred Collins
- LB Nick Martin
- NCB Upton Stout
- DT CJ West

They knew from last year with teams just running on us what the need of the team was i am so glad they are addressing it

CJ West spent 76% of his time at nose tackle (lined up over the center). My guess is he's playing the DJ Jones role and Alfred Collins takes over for Hargrave. Here is the first play of the game vs. Notre Dame. No DT in the draft averaged more tackles for loss per game than West. pic.twitter.com/gB5nkP76DV

I like West and his value more than Collins

Collins will be the beef he wont likely put up the stats but he is going to keep the LB clean to make plays
