No word yet, he hasn't officially signed his contract.

I'm gonna guess down to around 11M after Alex and Manningham, hopefully more around 12.5M, Still can clear 2.75M with Haralson release.

So, with the news that Alex did NOT get a signing bonus; what does that put our cap at so far AB?

The 49ers had an estimated $6.2 million in salary cap room before factoring in the Ginn and Johnson contracts. Terms of those deals have yet to be disclosed. The 49ers are expected to require a little more than $4 million in space to sign their seven scheduled draft picks

So Johnson will count probably around $1M or less against the cap, and we await Ginn's #s, but it looks like we'll be a few ticks north of $4M going into the draft. Tight, but for the talent we added a job very well done. A first-round pick is a first-round pick, but the #30 pick won't command as much as where we're used to picking.

AB, Do the 49ers have enough cap to sign a FA RG? Or is there just enough left to sign the draft picks?

If we extend Goldson or re-work/cut Haralson, we'll be fine.

As of now it's $925K for Johnson.
Ginn should be 2.5M Im thinking.
Right now $5.184M under.

After Schwartz decided against us and went to Minnesota, and we kept Ginn and add Johnson, I dont see a RG being brought in unless we cut haralson, redo sopoaga's contract and Goldson being extended. We have enough to sign draftees.

Hey AB, can you total up next years salaries for the players who's contracts won't expire? I just want to get a snap shot of the 2013 season since I heard the niners front office front loaded a bunch of the current contracts to keep us competetive for next season.
I doubt we have a high paid rookie since we are picking in the 30's, but I guess we could still trade up.

looks like we carried over the reported $16.5M from last season according to NFL.com's Jason LaCanfora.
http://blogs.nfl.com/2012/03/30/salary-cap-situation-for-each-team/
San Francisco 49ers
Current contracts: 48
Previous year carryover: $16,500,000.00
Adjustments: $982,519.00
Adjusted cap: $138,082,519.00
Team cap: $132,780,988.00
Cap room: $5,301,531.00
Team cash: $111,944,916.00
This may be after Jacobs, not quite sure. If so we are fine. I didn't realize we carried over an additional $3.9M, if correct, which is should be, we have enough right now to add a vet RG and sign our picks without addressing Goldson, Haralson, etc...

yeah, for 2013 with currently 52 players signed we are at a committed salaries of $117,639,342.
We have a good amount of players who have low contracts that wont be here at that time, potentially Byham, Dixon, K.Williams, etc...
I like using all dollars in 2012 to front load these contracts, and have as much cap room in 2013 and beyond, like with Willis adding his pro-ration into 2012.

Man we have to give Navarro Bowman a contract extension for at least 4 years hes really shaping into a elite ILB like Willis.

i'm a noob when it comes to Salary Cap and money, etc etc...
what eventually happens with 'dead money?' does it weigh on the cap?
