Without any restructuring

I'd imagine we restructure CMC and someone else. Once the Bosa deal is done, his cap hit for this year will more than likely be lower as well.

I think we restructure McCaffrey and Armstead

Kittle & Trent can restructure as well.

Yeah, we are in good shape. We will be in great shape if more of our 2020 - 2023 picks can show us something. Should be NFC favorites as long as either Brock or Trey are starting.

Are those numbers projections as to what a restructure would free up?

That's great, we could have around $60 million. Now how do we spend it?

I highly doubt we restructure them all. Maybe like 2 or 3 of them.

Holy s**t imagine how far like the top RT free agent and a top 3 CB or DT free agent would take this already loaded team. If we truly had 60mil in cap space in an offseason we could do that an more. That would be what we finally need to seal the deal on a SB roster

too bad we can pretty much guarantee they won't do that though

AA and McCaffery are for sure restructuring imo. So we will be at 28 million, at the minimum. We resign
Brendel
Brunskill
Gipson
Moseley

and hopefully get a good DE in FA opposite Bosa. RT is going to be an adventure bc no obvious upgrades are available in FA (there may be if you think McGovern is) or where we draft

Gotta let go of the free agent RT dream. The best options aren't that much better than McGlinchey. But these things have to be approached wisely. I'd do a DT if I could. Everything else would be wise, cap friendly signings.

And as hard as this one is, you have to think beyond the year in front of you. Aiyuk is due. Jennings will be due. Mosely, if resigned, its likely only a year and he will be due.

This is the offseason to nail the draft, so we can get as many good players as possible on rookie contracts. How they do with this draft, as well as more picks from 2021 - 2022 producing will dictate if we can remain an elite NFL team beyond 2023.

IMO the most likely restructures are CMC and Fred. When Bosa gets an extension it will lower his cap this yr. Not sure they restructure AA's contract. I see SF ending up with around $30M in space to play around with this off season. Plenty of room to resign a couple guys, MAYBE get an upper tier FA, and a couple small signings.

We do have a lot of our own guys we need to pay. And we do have to pay bosa. Both those will take a huge chunk of any Money we could free up. Moseley an jennings are guys we need to pay to keep around.

but I think we need to invest as much as we can into the 2023 season an just really go all in if their gonna go for it. They need to do something different to make it all the way.

I think our DE to help bosa is jackson. So don't need to sign one in FA. mcglinchey is better than his reputation but I still think we can get a better guy there. the pass protection vs run blocking debate has been beat to death, we need better pass blockers im not wasting anymore time on the subject. we do need help at DT it's gone from our strength to our weakness fast. When is buckners contract with the colts finished???

With 11 picks this draft and several more comp 3rd rounders over the next couple years I'm hoping we can locate that RT prospect we like and package some picks to move up into the 2nd/early 3rd and get him. I think last year was an anomaly when we didn't trade up or down at all. Resign Brendel and Brunskil and have Moore/Mckivitz/rookie compete for the RT spot. Worse case is we start Brunskil at RT. But I don't see 11 rookies making the team so hopefully we package some picks and trade up. RT, DT, FS, TE are the immediate needs I see

Warner might be the safer restructure because he will be around longer than Armstead but we could easily restructure both as well as McCaffrey. I just hope we get a very good surprise free agent whether it be defensive end, C or free safety if we're not going to resign Gipson or Brendel.

You are very right. Pass protection is by far the most important thing teams need. Since the NFL allows blatant holding, a good OL is more important than a good DL. Just look at the Super Bowl against Philadelphia or even Kansas City against San Francisco. Defensive lines are almost less important nowadays than pass protection because of that very fact.
