Those PSLs are often split between 2 or more people because they are so expensive. Some PSLs cost $50,000 and are financed. I know the Niners have some PSLs that are $50 thousand and they offered 10 years financing at 8% interest. That's more than double the interest rate on autos. Then the PSL holder has to pay for the tickets on top of it. Tickets in those prime areas are close to $500 per game. The "bad" seats are $150-$200 with PSLs that cost $5,000 to $10,000.
Prices like this are common all around the NFL. Many are higher than the 49ers. Prices are so high that many seats are bought up by corporations or places like Ticketmaster. Sports are no longer family friendly. Not sure you want to bring young fans to games anyway with the way fans act now.
None of that is on the players though. Jed is the one you should be mad at.

I would be curious to know what percentage of seats are owned by businesses who write them off as a business expense.
My buddy and I had 4 season tix for many years at Candlestick. Initially, we came to know all the people who sat around us. As time passed, some of those folks passed away or could no longer attend. Their seats were bought up by businesses who gave game tix as perks to employees, most of whom knew little about football, they were just there to get drunk. Be the time the team moved to Santa Clara, we hardly knew anyone around us.
FWIW, the combination of the PSL cost and the improvement in TV coverage led us to not renew our tix. Now if we want to see a game, we pay the street price for a single. There are always good seats available for a lot less than the total hit we would have to pay for season tix. Our choice.

Fair. But in direct terms he's more to blame than any of the players.
Why should a pharmaceutical CEO get to make millions of dollars when all the drug companies do is buy up taxpayer funded researched drug patents? You could do this for basically every field out there that gets paid a ton.

This is an industry issue and not just football. Salaries in all sports are escalating at an alarming pace. Teams want players . Players and their agents want more money. The league wants more money to carry their games which means the cable and streaming outlets need to charge more. In the end the only ones who don't profit are the fans. I don't know anyone who's salary has gone up anywhere near the pace of athletes. Top players in all sports are now getting paid near $50 million per year. Many are in the $30-$40 million range. What happens when the salaries are up in the $100 million range and the minimum is $5 million? How much will Amazon charge for the Sunday Ticket package? How much will the ticket prices be? At what point will real fans start turning away leaving only the corporate types who don't really care.
Sadly, the product on the field or court isn't getting better. The pace of football has been slowed by ore commercial breaks and constant play reviews. At least football players don't take games off to rest like baseball and basketball. Nothing like paying $500 for courtside seats to see your favorite basketball player only to find out he's taking the game off the night you attend.

Their salaries go up because the owners charge more. Owners aren't increasing ticket prices because of player cost. Your issue is with the owners and what they are doing.

Why would fans profit lol? Again if people don't want it then the price of everything goes down.

Agents, players and owners have screwed the pay scale for all sports.. but if we keep paying.. there's nothing to stop them

The new CBA gave the players a higher % of the total revenue. That's what the salary cap is…the players revenue (piece of the pie).
The Owners have to spend that cash within a certain timeframe or the balance goes to the NFLPA to be divvied up amongst all the players. It's essentially not even the owners money.
the main reason the revenue has gone up so much is because of the TV rights, legal gambling, streaming etc way more than just the ticket prices. Why has the TV rights gone through the roof? Because the consumer wants football. All those media outlets want a piece of our viewership.

The biggest piece of that revenue comes from TV rights/streaming. Not ticket prices (still a part for sure).
Us the consumer watch football more than anything else. It's not even really close. Those media outlets want a piece of that viewership and will pay billions for it.

This. It's the reason we are seeing multiple pop up football leagues that don't even draw many fans to the arena.

that's fair, it's really not as big of a chunk as people think considering where all the real cash comes from…I know you don't care but that's pretty much capitalism and how things role on American.
