That's #1 in the NFL by like $6M, in case folks were wondering.

Lol, no problem Kolohe, any time
CB #2 now, perty please.
Now we have the following 10 players making $10M+ a year on average after the Gregory trade.

Bosa- $34M
Deebo- $23.85M
Trent- $23.01M
Hargrave- $21M
Warner- $19.45M
Armstead - $17M
CMC- $16M
Kittle- $15M
Gregory- $13.9M
Ward- $13.5M

And I do believe we can afford to pay BA($25M), Huf($17M), Banks($10M), Dre($12M), plus extend Ward & Armstead in 2024, just means no splash move in FA in 2024, like glorydays said in I think the John Lynch thread, we don't need to make a splash move, not with the roster we have now, and the picks we have in 2024.
Updated cap room before today's gameday elevations, likely a WR for sure, maybe a CB too, $40,273,987

The Fleagles just picked up a all-pro safety on the cheap
I don't think it is a good idea to make any trades. Looking at overthecap, We are projected to have the 2nd highest active cap spending next season with the 7th lowest amount of cap space. We need to save that 40 mil we got and roll it over to next year. We just need to stay healthy this year and we have a chance at a SB. We need to draft really well the next two off seasons in order to be able to afford to stay competitive but this season we have a good enough squad inspite of what KC and PHI have done with trades.

In fact, I am sure we are the reason why they have made trades.

The only trades I'd be fine with is for minimum salary guys, or slightly over the minimum, I agree they need every bit of the $40M to carryover, people don't seem to get it, they want Bolles, or some other high priced player, we just traded for Gregory, who makes $14M a yr the next 3 seasons, plus we have players that need new deals, BA, Huf, Banks, AA, Dre, & Mooney all should get extended in 2024 IMO, if they decide to just trade for a guy making another $14M in 2024, they lose at least 1, or 2 of those players. Hell I would love Surtain, but I fear it would mean losing BA long term.

Greggory I thought is a 1 yr rental unless he balls out ?

We've only got a handful of seasons for a cheap QB contract so you can absolutely risk a couple of those guys walking if it means you can seal the deal this year.

AB - hope you are doing well my friend!

Question for you - what's the impact to the salary cap when a player retires? TW and Juice come to mind given their age and recent comments about taking it one year at a time.

IIRC, base salary and signing bonus do not count except for any prorated or void deal type clauses. But you are the expert!

This. We won't and can't keep just bringing everybody back. Players get old or just move on. Getting a ring should be priority 1. This roster needs a move in the secondary or d line to win the SB
