*obviously these are estimates but I imagine really accurate*

im curious what we are planning on doing and what things will look like once Brock is signed. I can see us extending Warner and Kittle to get more room.

Is that 48 mil including all the signings we have made?

AB is gonna come on here and tell us otherwise.

The 48k is before the signings that have been made.
Number is likely in the $35k range now.
There are more guys that I think are in jeopardy. Luter couldn't seem to understand you don't block the defender into your punt returner and if you touch the ball on a punt return, its a live ball that the other team can recover! Heck, he got replaced by a guy off the waiver wire.

I think Odum is in trouble too, because he really ended up as a liability in the secondary. It also didn't sound like Drake was doing very well with his knee.

I think we will target 30 to 40M to roll over into 2026. This could allow us to front load extensions for Brock Purdy and George Kittle

AB, so $74mil in projected cap space next year, correct?

Just to put this into context, when I looked at OTC before the Deebo trade we only had 23mil in cap space for 2026 with just 32 players signed.

That's before any potential 2025 rollover too.

There's a reason we're doing it now and not continually pushing it down the road.

We want to contend again in 2-3 seasons, not be the Saints for the next decade.

The saints are the saints because after that rockstar draft class in 2017, they've drafted like s**t for the most part.

Yeah. Lol I agree.

things look dire because we've let go of a lot of players - so beloved, but this isn't the 2017 roster. Lol still a good roster and is going to add talent in the next few months.

a lot of this financial shedding is cutting dead weight and bad deals. We need to get back what made us a force - drafting/UDFA talent and developing it, while signing cheap quality vets to shore up.

im optimistic this "reload" will still make us a competitive team if we have a good draft and the team remains focused. Soooooo many distractions last you - holdouts from key players, shootings, players children passing away (unthinkable and just terrible thing to happen), poor coaching on ST and Defense.

if we go back to what made us good and competitive in each down - we will be a problem again: I love that we have salehs energy back on that side line.

Yeah, I'm fine just ripping the bandaid off now . Sucks, but needs to be done, still think they can be competitive next year, but need to hit this draft out of the park.

Realistically, how much have we loss? I love Greenlaw and wish we had him back but he hasn't played for us in over a year. Same with Huf.

the only real loss im seeing right now is juice. Deebo hasn't been the same the last couple years but I'll miss him.

the rest of these sheddings are easily replaceable guys. Draft and sign cheap quality vets. The rest of our core is there. Shore up special teams and get the defense in line, healthy CMC. We will be a force, if the team is focused

Correct, I have them about $74M under a projected $300M cap, but doesn't factor in the 11 picks, or the 3 multi-year deals(Mac Jones, Demarcus Robinson & Luke Farrell).

I believe the 11 picks will approx cost $14.2M. Factor in 2.5-3M or so for those one year deals and then $15m for Brock's new deal. We can add cap room by extending Kittle and Warner too that can help

our cap situation isn't all that bad. It's healthy but not over flowing

In 2026 there's a real chance there's no Trent Williams too. Either he retires or they cut him if he has another injury plagued year. Would imagine that helps the cap a bit.
