Ended up being 3yr $31.5M, so $10.5M APY, they tried to get him to pull out of his agreement, guess whatever we offered wasn't good enough, I would have done this deal, here's the breakdown on OTC, https://overthecap.com/player/dre-greenlaw/7939
I wish we could have convinced him to stay, and why we didn't offer a multi-year deal, he only got $11.5M fully GTD, just weird all around.
Thanks
For players, coaches and fans this is the one that was a gut punch…gotta get this done and if it didn't work out so be it…smdh

Yes this is the gut punch loss, Hufanga at $15M a yr no thanks, Banks at $19.25M a yr HELL NO, Moore at $15M a yr HELL NO, Ward at $18M a yr I'd do but he was gone after the tragedy, so I don't hold anything against anyone, he wanted a fresh start, and Deebo whatever the never lived up to the deal he got, as for Dre, $10.5M for 3yrs, makes no sense, only $13.5M GTD $11.5M is fully GTD, this is the loss that hurts the most, I wonder what we offered him to try to get him to pull out of the deal, no issue with Mason deal, not paying a RB2 $5M+, Collins & Floyd I might have kept for the time being until TC, well just Floyd, since Collins had a option bonus due, guys like Ya-Sin, Yiadom. Dobbs, Allen are all replaceable.
I also don't see the issues with the roster, it's still very talented, have a lot of young talent, still a talented core, deep roster IMO, but that's me, I like some of these signings, ST unit needed to be addressed, now need to fix the IOL & IDL, plus an EDGE opposite Bosa, speedy guy, he's never had someone opposite him since the Dee Ford debacle, 1 good yr, then injured rest of deal.

What's the over/under for number of new players making the 53? I think there will be at least 15 new faces.

More deals official.
Patrick Taylor Jr. - 1yr $1.17M($300K GTD, only $1.03M counts)
Siran Neal - 2yr $4M, $1.255M(gtd), $1.355M base salaries, $1M signing bonus(prorated over you guessed it 5yrs, so 3 void years), $170K per game roster bonuses, $25K workout bonuses, also has $200K NLTBE incentives for All-Pro honors.

There is. 35.7 mil. 39.4 to keep. So cutting him would clear 3.7 for 26.
If he plays out the string and goes after 26 it's a 21 mil hit to 27 cap.
Pretty much we are effed in any situation with Trent outside of him playing a handful more years. I think a lot will depend on how he feels this year and success we have (or don't have)
if we can get back to spankin ass and he's healthy, I can see him pulling off 2 more years but he pretty much forced the organization into a terrible contract
They should have traded him.

Yea this hurts. Actions speak louder than words though. If they really wanted him they would've gave him a better deal.

Trade him? Why? This team is depleted, nor is there window closed, the reported "demise" is a bunch of BS, Eagles lost 7 starters in FA, don't see Eagles fans, or the media saying bad things about them, and they have a $51M a yr QB, highest paid RB, two WRs making over $25M a yr, high paid TE, 3 high paid OL, just don't get it, makes no sense to trade anyone, unless they don't want to be here like Deebo, trading and doing a rebuild makes zero sense.

FYI, every team does this now, it's not like the 49ers are the only team who does void years for nearly every multi year deal, every team does, Vikings, all there multi-year deals have void years, hell even Mason's deal has 3 void years, they have void years in Aaron Jones's deal, and he's in his 30s, the Eagles do it to, look at Hurts deal, it has void years, people have no clue how the salary cap works, void years are the norm.

Great job as always with the cap numbers. I think we are just fine & getting younger in the process. Need some help for Bosa on the dline & draft well this year. Go 49ers!

Notice who's #1? Philadelphia, and no Eagles fans seem to be b***hing about that, the media says nothing when they lose 7 key starters from their SB team, but god forbid the 49ers lose a bunch of average starters now it's the sudden downfall of the 49ers, even though there isn't one, 2024 was a bad year, injury after injury, people in Philly wanted Siriani fired before last season, they didn't believe in Hurts either, fans that is, now all of a sudden cause of Barkley, they're the media darlings, I just laugh it off, all this doom and gloom from 49ers fans, and they know who they are, they're overreacting big time, when the 49ers extend Brock, Kittle, Jauan, Warner, their deals won't hurt the cap, the reason why teams keep reloading is the use of void years, and good drafting, some are better than others, also the Aiyuk deal doesn't hurt the 49ers cap, they can afford to keep him, hell as I've said the Eagles APYs for Hurts, AJ Brown, Smith, Barkley, Lane Johnson, Mailata, Dickerson are all $20M+ a year.
As for some teams who don't do void years like we do, they have this year, Washington & Minnesota did it, looking at the Vikings cap, easy for me since my Dad was a Vikings fan, they're almost $20M over a projected $300M cap for 2026, the deals they did that don't have void years, but have high, and I mean HIGH 2026 cap numbers will be restructured, hell Kinlaw in Washington got 2 or 3 void years from Adam Peters.

And after all that you still don't understand that regardless of the PR spin, real fans just want to win a Super Bowl and are not sentimentally attached to the people that aren't getting that done be it coaches or F/O personnel.
We can talk about the eagles fans all we want, they won a ring last year. If you want folks to view the current head coach and front office as if they are Bill Walsh & Eddie D they will have to earn that by winning multiple titles.
until then… excuses in the form of PR Spin is what we will keep hearing about.
