In a country that has no other major sports but soccer, Yes Soccer in Mexico is the nations past, present and future time. Its funny to me because Mexico has never won a world cup, or even made it past the 1/8 round in the World Cup. But the country lives and dies with the team.

Yes they do care more about it. The point I was making is you have to take your hat off to Mexico because they have never came close to winning a WC or even making it that far, but they have and will continue to have a strong fan base.

uh, Mexico has made it past the world cup 1/8 round. And we've won other important FIFA tournaments like the Confederations cup. Only about 8 teams have ever won the world cup, the other 150+ teams in FIFA have never won a world cup since it was first started in the 30's. By no means is Mexico mediocre.
