Holden reminds me of a young Dempsey or Mathis....

Nice find. That was possibly the greatest accomplishment in US soccer history.

Didnt the US reach semi-finals in the world cup once? Damn, I was f**king sad when we got our asses wipped by the U.S. in the 2002 world cup.

No, that was the furthest the US has ever advanced in any WC

What a game Mexico vs CR in penalties, too bad USA is gonna beat the winner

yeah it was an awesome game.. can't believe costa rica scored in the end !

altidore will handle his business on sunday

Hate to break it to you but USA has a JV Squad out there NO Donovan, Altidore, Bocanegra, Howard, Dempsey or any big names, but I still think they win.

Mexico is also playing with the JV squad. I can't wait for Sunday's game. I will be happy either way.

Mexico has Ochoa their #1 GK, Dos Santos, Torrado, Vela and others that have some international caps, they have some youngsters but its not a B team.
The US has their #4 GK and he was just called up on TUESDAY.
I still expect the US to win though.

1930, the U.S. reached the semi-finals but lost 6-1 to Argentina. I was right. But that was a long ass time ago so eh.

I actually remember that, but there were 13 teams that showed up for that 1st World Cup. There was no qualifying. If you came, you got to play. Most European countries didn't want to make the long trip across the Atlantic. Only 4 ended up making it. Hardly the legitimate contest of the best teams in the world.

But don't get me wrong, I'll claim it proudly as a US fan. I'm just sayin'.

You remember 1930? How old are you Stoneage, I mean Stoney?
dang, Im watching republica deportiva and they interviewed Gerardo Torrado and he said that the U.S. and Mexico traveled on the same plane to New Jersey...haha, how awkward must that have been. He said its been like that the whole tournament though, every team that theyve played against they've shared a trip with. Mexico took the front half of the plane and the U.S. sat in the back half. Haha, awkward man. Cant wait for this s**t to start! Mexico wins 2-1, maybe even 3.
mexico winning 3-0 USA is lucky this game is not 5-0..Beating that ass
Dos Santos is a beast. He is the type of player mexico has needed for a while. He can create for him and others. He has really stepped up his game in this tournament.

hell ya he is so elusive in the open field and creates so many lanes when he has the ball.....Vela has had a nice second half, had some nice runs but DOS SANTOS is pure world class talent.
