Probably who they should have gone after all along if they were going to sign a FA. Personally, I think that they should have saved their cap space though.
I don't know why they were courting SFs & PFs all along. Either way, good move. He's an underrated player.

Hmm...I like Portland, and I like Andre...so lets see what we got here...
PG Andre Miller/Steve Blake
SG Brandon Roy/Jerryd Bayless
SF Rudy Fernandez/Martell Webster/Nicolas Batum
PF LaMarcus Aldridge/Travis Outlaw/Jeff Pendergraff
C Greg Oden/Joel Pryzbilla (hes still on the team right?)
Hmm...I like it, I like the depth they have in the front court...a lot of guys who can play different spots (LaMarcus can go 4 or 5, Travis could go 3 or 4, Pendergraff might be able to go 5, Rudy and Martell can both go 2 or 3) gives em some versatility and the ability to mix things up...if Oden can stay healthy and be half the man he was suppose to be, and Andre will fit in perfectly I imagine, then this should be a top 3 team in the West next year (LA, San Antonio, Portland, assuming all are healthy) if their youngins keep improving at the rate that they have been up to now...

I think Batum is their starting small forward.

I'm not as high on this pickup as you all are. They have Roy handling the ball for most of the 4th quarter, so i dont see why you need Miller. I definitely agree that they needed to upgrade the point guard spot, but i would of prefered a knock down shooter in that spot rather than a guy that isnt a great 3pt shooter and needs the ball in his hand to make plays.

I have to agree. I like Dre, but I'm not so sure he's the right fit. I think he'll help, and he's an upgrade over Blake, but they would have been better off with a shooter at that spot.
Seems like they had money to spend, got near the end of free agency, and figured they better sign someone.

They start Batum? For what? "Defensive purposes"? lol, sometimes I dont understand why teams do this...seriously, how much better can Nick be than Rudy defensively? GIVE THE SPANIARD THE STARTING SPOT! KIDS GOT STROKE

If the Knicks signed Miller it'd be a wrap. Especially if they do the sign-n-trade with Lee for Boozer. Come on now!!!
