Umm I see what you are saying, but since no one has come close to it, it makes it pretty special. Plus, taking 63 shots in a no-shot clock era is incredible in itself.
The shot clock came into play in the 1954-55 season, before Wilt's 100 points in 1962.
In the 1961-62 season, the average NBA team scored 118.8 points per game.
In the 2005-06 season, the average NBA team scored 97.0 points per game.

Yeah, that game was absolutely ridiculous, and that capped an 11-11 game for Laettner. It's right up there, IMO, largely due to the circumstances of the shot rather than the actual shot itself.
