It is a sad day for Baseball. RJ was a great pitcher for a long time. The all time career leading in strikeouts per nine innings. 2nd all time in Strikeouts. Perhaps in the top 5 all time Lefties.

I've always like Randy. My favorite matchup in baseball was Bonds/Johnson hands down

Man, I wish he joined the G Men earlier in his career.

He might want to try to have a winning record before you start saying silly things like that.
Randy is probably third on the list of best left-handers of all time behind Koufax and Spahn, even though I think he could even be argued as the best. His slider is probably the best in the history of baseball. The man was a beast, 5 Cy Young awards is a ridiculous feat.

Ron..... seeing a 46 year old superstar leave the game isnt a sad day at all. You make it sound like he died. LOL What is much sadder is when players hang on way past their time and tarnish their reputations. Gladly, RJ didnt do that.

I think you could easily make the case that he is the greatest LH pitcher of all time when considering longevity and dominance. Koufax was the greatest for a 6 year span but that was all he had. Very short time frame. Spahn was also great obiously but didnt put up the numbers nor was as dominant as RJ was in my opinion. You would also have to include Steve Carlton is those discussions as well.
